This seems to be happening a lot with MAFEX figures recently. Used to be that you can count on a figure being in stock for awhile after release. It’s possible Medicom might be cutting down production numbers as a way to catch up on their backlog? Or maybe stores aren’t ordering as much to keep their inventory down?

I think it's more likely that collectors have warmed to the line. Hard to deny how good some of the figures are.

I only have Cyclops, and he sure blows the ML out of the water (although, the ML Cyke doesn't exactly set a high bar to eclipse). Just weird that both him and Wolverine have stayed pretty accessible for over 2 years now and the day after Gambit's released, it's like" Nope. He's gone. Discontinued. Never coming back." That was certainly short lived lol. Hope Psylocke doesn't meet the same fate, but wouldn't be surprised either...

The pattern I've seen over the last year is that a second shipment comes to market 2-3 months after the initial one sells out. That just happened with Infinity War Cap. He was sold out for months, but now you can get him at most Japanese retailers. Carnage sold out twice and had at least two restocks, and several retailers do have him again now.

However some characters are VERY popular and even the restocks pre-sell out. Superman and Batman Hush both did that.

That was at least the case for the black and grey Hush Batman. The blue version stuck around at retailers until around June of this year at places like BBTS at least.

I think it's partially that, and also that we're seeing MAFEX expand their lineups and hit all different corners of the DC and Marvel universes now. These figures aren't exactly one offs. It's easier to invest if you know they're gonna have some companion pieces.

No, but looking at my order I see that the status for Gambit has changed from "pre-order" to "in stock," so I'm guessing they will start charging Monday or Tuesday.

Ahh, thanks for the heads up. I'm guessing then possibly it'll happen overnight. Now that I think of it, I believe the last couple of times it had been a Sunday night/Monday morning type of deal.

Not yet, but I'm still waiting for a couple of other figures to be released this month.

I shipped Gambit and Magneto on Saturday, figuring my Spider-Gwen order didn't make the cut. Today she's payed for and ready to ship.

Gwen also has the discontinued status. I made a late decision and decided I'd like her as a stand alone figure. I preordered on 9/20, but she didn't drop into my Private Warehouse with Gambit. I should reach out to HLJ to see if they have more coming to cover their remaining orders.

I was hoping Gambit would ship with Hush Joker, but I guess he'll ship with Psylocke next month. Maybe.

Got my shipping notice and tracking number from HLJ for Gambit. Guessing it could take 1-3 weeks until delivery? It's in Sennan-Shi Japan now...
