I can’t believe Mafex included blue feet on the black costume Spider-Man. That is one detail that pretty much every other toy company has overlooked.

Whether it's accessories or minor costume details, MAFEX is so good at referencing specific comic issues or panels.

Not yet. But it’s pretty safe to assume preorders will drop by today or Friday

I thought I'd be happy with the Legends version until you put them side by side. Yep, that's definitely a $90 figure vs. a $25 figure.

He's also up at AmiAmi. Just put my order in.

With the unmasked head, I think they’re going for the look of Peter when he first came back from the Secret Wars in ASM #252. (First regular issue appearance of the black costume).

Also, that issue prominently featured him sporting the blue foot look.

I'd like to get that figure and try to recreate this panel.

That’s so cool. I wish it came with an alternate lower torso like catwoman did so we could swap out the different thoraxes in the spider symbols.

I just can't pull the trigger after seeing Hasbro's for 25% the cost. Hell, that's before including shipping, which keeps skyrocketing.

I think the MAFEX looks incredible next to the ML. It's odd though, because the main boon of the MAFEX is a sleek sculpt and design vs Hasbro's chonky thighs and clunky, doll like build. However, in Just J's hands the Hasbro looked beautiful in so many different poses. Of course, the MAFEX will have better articulation but I don't know that it will be $75 better. It would be great though if Hasbro could create sculpts that had the shelf presence of a MAFEX while in neutral poses. I don't know if their failure to do so is because of parts reuse, and the Frankensteining breaks up natural body flow and weight, or they just don't have the design talent, or they are purposefully going for an aesthetic that looks like classic action figures. Either way, it doesn't seem like a money issue since it doesn't relate to the amount of joints, quality of plastic, or paint. Just sculpt and design.

That's where they got the unmasked head from, but the masked head is clearly McFarlane with the big eyes.

Yeah, the masked head is definitely McFarlane inspired. Too bad the alternate head wasn't the classic Ron Frenz look instead of just the McFarlane head again with slightly different eyes.
