It really does. I know artist-specific heads are on people's radars, there have been whole threads about it, is this Hasbro's first official foray into it? There's no denying they were shooting for this. I guess that open-mouth Beast head is clearly from the Jim Lee cover.......anything else from Hasbro that is undeniably artist-specific?

Anyway, this is a solid attempt. I'm still on the fence about her. I'm not shooting to build the whole Astonishing team, but if I got one, it would probably be her.

If you want to just make a carte blanch statement that all of our members are innocent and pure and no one here could possibly have a chain smoking granny fetish in skin tight white leather than you go right ahead. I however refuse to die on that particular hill. Someone in this thread is definitely concealing a boner and I can already smell the panic sweat.

Who's concealing it? I'd hit it. ;p

Also, Corsair isn't hot enough either apparently. I kinda skimmed over him cause my interest is negligible for his figure, but people have preferences. And that's ok.

You know who they better do justice to? Deathbird and Lilandra. We're probably only gonna get 1 shot at those. The Lilandra head we have is fine. And they could even do something similar to the customs people were doing using the Silver Sable and Ultrons girlfriend (why does Ultron have a girlfriend?) bodies. That would be pretty spot on. But Deathbird needs to be glorious. And shiny. And with really great wings.

Also Moondragon will never happen. I'm convinced of that.

I'd be happy to be wrong. It's just, her designs are all things Hasbro has been avoiding doing with their figures for a while. Too skimpy, too sexualized, for them. But they did do Tigra in her bikini, so who knows.

For the love of Pete….when I call out all the perverts, you aren’t supposed to unmask yourselves and ask granny out to the prom afterwards.

You yikes me sometimes people. You really yikes…

On a more serious note it does seem like the more commonplace the oversexualized outfits become, the more Hasbro has to acknowledge the elephant in the room and has to make these costume variations because there is fan appeal, no matter the appeal. If big box retailers chose to turn them down then so be it, we have other avenues for these now

I think 90% of the people I work with would feel the same way if I told them I collect action figures. I'm not ready to share how I own thousands of little men in skin tight outfits or wrestling trunks.

I prefer Lady Death personally. I'm a sucker for weird skin colors. I have a ton of the old Clayburn Moore stuff in a box somewhere (don't have the room to display them right now) that I absolutely love, and the Withcblade and Lady Death figures are fantastic pieces from that line.

I will not apologize for my "weird" preferences. I like what I like, idc what people think.

I'm unfamiliar with this artist's work, but these panels tell me both that I don't like it and that he makes EVERYBODY look like a sourpuss. Is he popular?

John Cassaday is pretty well respected and has been in the business almost 30 years.
I dodged conversations about the lack of merit in “Modern” comic art in several threads, ( definitely wasn’t about to wade into the comments about how great the 90s were eeek) but a quick search can definitely fill anyone in on his work.

John Cassaday is debatably most well-known for Planetary, written by Warren Ellis. highly recommended depending on your tolerance for Ellis. I don't think Astonishing X-men is Cassaday's best work but i'd say he's pretty popular. I don't know what he's working on these days.

and yeah i don't understand how people want astonishing x-men figures but don't want the characters to look like they were depicted in astonishing x-men?
