Replace pointing hand on TRU Cyclops figure with a fist?

Tue Oct 12, 2021 1:42 am

Anyone know how I can replace the pointing hand on the Dark Phoenix TRU Cylcops figure (80s version) ? I want him to have 2 fists rather than the pointing hand. Is there a figure with a fist that's the same approximate shade as the figure?

I couldn't tell you who it came with at this point, but I have a yellow left fist. Doing a quick look around, I really can't remember who it's from. Pyro has two yellow fists. X-men Deadpool does not... it looks slightly larger than the fists on the original Havok, but not enough to look out of place. So it must have been a character on the Wonderman or Bucky Cap mold.

I guess what I'm concerned about is that the shade of yellow matches. I really don't want to have to paint it to match. If anyone knows what figure has a close paint match that would be appreciated.

Anyone have a pyro, retro vision, or retro electro that they can do a side by side with cyclops so I can gauge the color difference?

I don’t know if you’re aware, but the “pointing hand” on Cyclops is likely more of a nod to the older books where he’d have a manual switch on his visor, that enabled him to release his optic blasts. (Later they added a trigger into his glove for that). In those issues Cyclios would often be seen putting his finger(s) to the side of his visor when shooting his optic blasts.
Not saying you should or shouldn’t swap the hand. Just wanted to make sure you were informed about the actual purpose of the pointed finger before you went ahead with it.

Thanks Detective. Yeah I know why he uses it historically. I just want to be able to pose him in vanilla poses as well. It just looks awkward with one pointing hand.

On another note, does anyone think the fists from the Morph figure might work?

AoA Morph had two fists.

Not sure about Nighthawk(?), Spymaster.

Update - AOA Morph hands dont fit nor do the yellows match. They're slightly too big and the peg does not fit snuggly so it's loose
