Cap update! Finally made a new interior of the shield, handle straps and a back mount system. I also repainted the red of the shield to better match the red of the suit. I brought the blue down a bit further on the torso as well. The outermost white stripe carried all the way up the armpit, now there's some blue added back in.

The new interior is sheet styrene heated to fit with a foam circle that I cut notches into to run elastic band through. It meets in the middle and I coated the back with superglue to make SUPER sure it's not going anywhere. As for the back mount, I ran another elastic strip across Cap's back that goes all the way into the socket of the arms. I cut a hole in each end of the strap for the arm to peg through. The pics show the process of hanging the shield on his back properly. Multiple steps and ideally the main straps would just slip over his shoulders but I want as little paint scraping and stress on the straps as possible and that means this. I actually like it more than I thought I would and it feels very secure.

Hoping to have him done by 4th of July because of course.

I also got all the parts ordered for the rest of the Avengers in one big Ebay purchase. A big team all taken care of is such an exciting idea that I can't wait to pose up.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Wow... I'm totally rethinking how I'll be modifying my shields now.

Been wanting a different McFarlane Batman than what has been offered so far so I kit-bashed this guy together from a few different figs, brought out some details in the sculpting with a bit of paint and gave him a soft goods cape.

Was excited to see Callisto being released but then the one-two punch of her being in a set and using a glammed up head killed it for me.

Was going through my bag of heads and found

Did some dremeling and added AoA Jean Gray's hair

Still need to add scar, eye-patch, etc., etc.

I like the tactical look of the figure and wanted to make something for the joe shelf but not a popular character that hasbro will make and waste my work so I picked someone I think won't be made soon but we will see.

I'll let you all guess who its gonna be, may be really obvious, I dont how popular he really is, but I didn't remember him so its fresh for me and worked with stuff I had.

Soon as I get another gung ho hat from tfitz (just borrowed my gung hos hat for pics) ill get to painting. Probably not going to do the exact colors of the old toy and instead go for more realistic muted colors.
Oh God I'm getting Shockwave vibes from that...

WIP Callisto Head:

Preliminary paint - need to sand a bit more and fill some small gaps. Grabbed a Shiklah on the cheap on ebay for her body mainly for the heels.

Callisto Composite:

Using mostly leftovers from my bins -- er, ziplock bags. Heavily modded Admiral Holdo's upper torso to fit, added ball joint for the head, and need to bulk up her neck a bit. Will swap out boots since they are so tiny, and may swap out ankles as well.

Callisto Update:
Image
Nearly finished! Couldn't get original head idea to work. New head is Emma Frost with cheeks sanded down and cloned AoA Jean Grey hair modded with procreate.

Also working on another version closer to the upcoming ML release:
Image
Lower body is AoA Jean Grey, upper is Boom Boom. Face is Dagger and Hair is AoA Jean Grey. Boots and jeans were cloned from punk Storm. Feet are Dazzler's rollerskates hacked down.
