Just put in my order, surprised no one here is talking about them. These are what I envisioned when I heard they were doing Silver Hawks and ecstatic to get my hands on Quicksilver.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
I put in an order for this as well as the new version of the Centurions (80's Commanders). Hopefully they make the April target date. I'm still getting the Super7 Silverhawks, but there's room in my collection for both versions. They have a Mon-Star coming too...not sure if I'll need that one yet.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
The 1/12 scale thing is throwing me. Isn't 1/10 scale about 7 inches? Or is QuickSilver just very tall?

Noel Lee (owner of Ramen Toys) makes Bobby Vala look like a saint, imo. Their Facebook page is a mess.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
Assuming Quicksilver is 6 feet, a 1/10 scale release would need to be ~7.2 inches. They listed it as 175mm specifically, which would be 6.8 inches, well below 1/10 but also pretty high above 1/12. Mind you, they also specifically listed 157mm for the Centurions, and those were pretty much exactly that height. So it sounds like a "scale purists will not be happy" situation, potentially.DennyCrane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 3:25 pmThe 1/12 scale thing is throwing me. Isn't 1/10 scale about 7 inches? Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
I'm not a scale purist really. But have to say it's damned confusing when you're shopping for (or especially) trying to market the two scales. Ever since pretty much when Marvel Legends, flag waver of the "6-inch scale" became larger than actual 6-inch this has been an issue. Mythic Legions are pretty close to MOTU Classics in size yet one is marketed as 1/12 and the other 1/10.

Same, but I'm really curious how this is allowed to happen. I just really don't understand the legalities of third party knock-offs.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
Ooooooohhh. Pretty bold move to authorize someone to make versions of your toys you know people want more.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
Since Brian Flynn owns the IP it's a smart move to have someone produce a version that's a bit more modern, while still collecting a royalty fee lol. Most likely all were going to get from S7 is show specific figures, maybe a toy deco repaint and reactions.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
I agree, it's very smart. It gives the impression that the IP is more active and in demand, and Super7 is getting paid to have products made for their property. Aesthetically there's no overlap so S7's core operations aren't affected either. Plus I imagine that Ramen's releases bringing in customers to the Silver Hawks IP will also open up eyes towards S7's monster offerings as supplementals and entice further purchases that otherwise wouldn't be there.
They must have really wised up and are seeing bigger pictures now after wheeling and dealing with Hasbro and their IPs.

Re: Ramen Toys Silver Hawks
Very uncertain. Do NOT like the price. Preordered tentatively until I see reviews.
Still all in with Super 7 Ultimates, as I'm loving what they're doing with Turtles & Cats.
Worst case, I have two lines of Silverhawks. Wish I'd gotten the vintages back before they skyrocketed.
