Re: NECA: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
I have no attachment to the character Warduke, but all of the praise heaped on this figure by the likes of Robo, Dan Larson, and folks in this thread caused me to bite. This is one rad toy. The design should be too ridiculous to work, but somehow this guy pulls it off. I love how the blue came out and I'm a sucker for weapon storage so the three blades and a scabbard for each is doing it for me. I just wish NECA would be more consistent with wrist hinges as this guy needs vertical hinges in a bad way. They got it right on Hudson from their Gargoyles line, but somehow overlooked it with this guy?! Excepting that, it's hard to find faults on this one. Personally, I would have liked a more bulked up torso and arms like the box art, but once posed that desire fades some. That's also more of a personal preference than a true fault with the figure. NECA is firing on all cylinders lately when it comes to paint and this guy looks amazing. All of the joints are nice and smooth too even after sitting in a cold mail truck all day. I was expecting to have to heat him up to get things moving and the weapons in his hands and scabbards, but I had no such issues. Even the effect part slid onto the sword with relative ease. Now he can go tower over the Drizzt I've had for a few years and strike an evil pose on my shelf.

Re: NECA: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
Any character whose primary weapon is a sword should have a vertical wrist hinge. I do not understand how any toy company doesn't understand this.

I received a tracking number for Warduke from Wizkids about an hour ago. It seems like they’ll be in our hands soon.

I have so many ideas for photos with him and other figures now.

I would expand that to pretty much any melee weapon and most firearms as well.Poe Ghostal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 12:20 amAny character whose primary weapon is a sword should have a vertical wrist hinge. I do not understand how any toy company doesn't understand this.

Re: NECA: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
This guy really can store all his accessories on himself without having to hold them. I just realized the shield can hang from his scabbard.

Not the same but playing around with him, I got him on a ML horse (one that comes with the headless horseman) and his loincloth piece is not as flexible as desired if you want it to be flexible to sit on a horse.thewyldman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 4:55 amAnybody have a photo of War Duke on the McFarlane horse?

Re: NECA: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
I have a second one on preorder from EE, which I plan on doing some customization. I might try a real fur skirt and see if he can sit on a horse better.Poe Ghostal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 5:44 pmOh no, really? Re: NECA: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
I am sure it is doable, or easily customizable with a cut or something, but just a bit of playing with him made it clear that Nightmare was not planned when Warduke was designed.Poe Ghostal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 5:44 pmOh no, really?
