My excitement is souring after all the YouTube reviews. I’m seeing more and more breakage, especially from Goldar and the Putty.

Maybe some soul searching is needed on my part with super7 ultimates.

I'm sticking with their MMPR line (Zordon era at least), but I'm only going to get my favorites from TMNT, and I'm avoiding other lines from them now unless it's something really unique, like Toxic Crusaders and the Shogun Godzilla.

It's sad, I hope they work their issues out. I'm used to heating figures these days (hell, I had a JJK Figma break the other day at the swappable elbow, never had that happen) but these issues are too widespread.

They have some lines coming out I'd usually be really interested in but I just know they're not going to turn out well -- the Next Generation figures, for example, with their track record on faces so far.

I have been watching reviews on these and the Simpsons. I love super7 but $55 is too much to begin with let alone the breakage. I have only seen 1 review where holidays wing didn’t break. Every other review…..4 or 5 I think now has the broken wing peg.

The putty hand pegs are breaking on most videos as well. I was looking so Norway’s to these but now Im dreading them showing. I put a down payment on them, but im honestly thinking of just eating that cost and canceling. Life is stressful enough. Our hobbies shouldn’t be.

I’m watching toku topics review on goldar (YouTube) and boom…wing peg snapped off. The reviewer is scared to change heads because the neck peg seems like it’s going to snap. He did swap but never put the second head on. A $55 dollar figure that you literally can’t touch.

I know the fwoosh team talks with Brian from time to time, any chance someone can reach out to super7 for a statement on this. They sent review copies to all of these power ranger and figure channels and the reviews are actually losing more customers than gaining.

I have Goldar preordered through BBTS and the only thing keeping me from not canceling is BBTS has great customer service. I know if it breaks they'll either replace it or refund me, but the issue seems rather ridiculous at this point. What is so hard about getting wings to work properly? Ace Duck had some problematic wings too, though with that figure I didn't hear a ton about breaking parts at least. I'm guessing they'll blame it on not being able to get into the factory still due to COVID protocols, but it sure seems like the main issue is they're not using the proper plastic for these parts. They could have also just ditched the need for a hinge and gone with a ball and socket, but the setup for the joint should work fine. Obviously they just blew it and it's been a recent problem with other lines from them. It used to be Super7 just had loose joints and a lack of paint, they didn't break. And I don't know why they went to a ball-hinge at the head - that joint sucks. I never had any issues with their double-ball pegs, aside from them burying the lower joint and reducing range, but that's better than breaking.

From vids I'm seeing, just moving the wing breaks it. It's just totally faulty.

Yeah, I saw a few of them. I have to believe it's the plastic they're using that's just too brittle on those wings. They're probably using a harder plastic, but the factory obviously screwed up something in the mix for the post to snap before the hinge can do its job. I prefer the wings too, so I'm planning on adjusting them before putting them on and then leaving them alone. Of course, if I go to fiddle with him months from now chances are I forget and snap one. It's too bad the QC let the figure down because I think it could have been one of the best Ultimates they've ever done. I'm also never swapping that head if I feel like there's even a chance of it breaking.

Yooo! Spoilers, dude!

I've been counting down to his review, knowing how excited he was for Goldar specifically and knowing what could be in store for him.

Lord Zedd is the only Super7 figure that I'm excited for but these consistent QC issues & questionable design choices aren't encouraging.

Hopefully they're looking at the critical feedback to fix things & not tune out because some of their closer associates are justifying things with "That's the Super7 aesthetic" or "Don't buy them if you have a different opinion."

I'm rooting for guys like Kyle who's clearly passionate about the line but at the moment there's not much quality to justify paying those prices.

What gets me is how a lot of recent reviews almost seem to gloss over the QC issues. I saw one that was literally like "As for the wing that snapped off, I glued it back together and now it's fine!"

Heck I see comments in Toku Topics' video that are like "If you're gonna swap or move anything just be sure to heat up literally everything and also wash all the parts before you do anything", etc, etc.

It feels like because in some of these cases the figures are being sent as review samples, so the reviews themselves end up more dismissive of the downsides than they honestly should be on-top of collectors that go to bat in the comments praising quality and convoluted methods to circumvent breakage that anyone paying $50+ for these shouldn't even be required to do just to ensure their money hasn't been wasted.

I know the exact one you're talking about for that first example. Bruno from MMPRToys

I know what you mean with the reviews. I feel it is because the figures themselves are so gorgeous. The box/packaging presentation, the accessories the size and the paint work are just fantastic. You want to love them. Then boom. The breaking starts. I find myself doing it.” Well I can examine the pegs first “….etc.

Fact is, us paying customers are PAYING $55 plus shipping and tax on these. They should not break. Super7 is hoping we do what we always do. Look the other way. Judging by the TMNT after market prices, I think people have had their limit of super7. I cancelled all outstanding super7 ultimates ( TMNT wave 5,6,7…thundercats army builders, all series of GI JOE and all series of siver hawks and Simpsons) except power rangers….I put a deposit on them.

I'm still fine with what I've seen, more or less

Or rather, I can eat 55 for these versions of these characters because I still feel that they are the best looking and best sized iterations for my personal collection. But I also collect ancient dawn of the 2000s SIC Kamen Rider toys and I've *yet* to own a NECA figure that either wasn't loose or broke in some way.

It's just par the course for what I like and I don't expect any company to do a 7 inch scale MMPR line like this again, so I'm fine with it. Treat them like they're adult collectibles from the late 90s early 2000s, got it. That's completely in line with what I have now.

The one thing I really don't like and I've been vocal about this, if not here than elsewhere- it's not even that the headsculpts are so cartoonish, though that doesn't help super much, but I really wish they had more neutral or more serious human faces. Trini isn't bad but the others are varying degrees of too happy or carefree, when the whole reason I'd *want* a helmetless Ranger is to have them in a morphing pose with the morpher they come with!

When they do the morphing call, they look serious, determined. That's what I wanted for a helmetless option. Oh well
