Super7 Mystery Line Speculation

Wed May 19, 2021 4:22 am

So Super7 has a 'melt your brain' (presumably Ultimates) line being announced in mid-July. Just for the stupid fun of it... any guesses?

I'm gonna go.... Dungeons and Dragons.

Mad Max

Funko was meant be releasing something a few years ago but it never went anywhere and there is a new movie coming about Furiosa so that would be a huge line.

Excalibur would be great, finally!

but since I know that wont happen ever, I’ll throw out Thundarr and Inhumanoids. I would be all over these in ultimates and reaction, and go with the 80’s cartoon thing that Super7 does so well.

"Melt your brain?" That could only be Scanners!

D&D would be awesome and would explain why we haven't seen anything new from Hasbro (SERIOUSLY HASBRO). I could absolutely see it being the D&D cartoon especially, with their heavy focus on cartoon properties from that era.

My brain would personally melt for an AJW line to complement their other wrestling figures, but I don't think they'd be hyping something so niche in language that intense.

When I think of something brain-melting, I think Akira. So I'm going to throw that out as a dark horse option. It's not quite their usual wheelhouse but it's in the era they tend to cover.

Maybe... Mars Attacks? They've already secured the rights for ReAction, and the amount of absolute gruesomeness would be off the charts. The Mezco is going for $200+ on ebay, so it's not like it's got any sort of realistic contenders for consumers to go after.

Gargoyles, based on the Kenner toys, it’ll melt our brains because we won’t believe they want $60 for neckless Brooklyn and $500 for the Rip Roaring Cycle.

I think I’m going with Dungeons & Dragons as well. I thought about a couple other things that could maybe use brain melting as a description - Indiana Jones or Back to the Future Ultimates but I think D&D is the real winner! I wouldn’t mind Star Trek Ultimates or KISS Ultimates either! But I think this is going to be D&D. I can’t wait for Ultimates Warduke!

Hah! It's funny, but I was thinking about that when I was free-associating with the idea of brain melting. But they probably wouldn't be hyping it like this since they've already done ReActions. (Maybe they'll go with Dinosaurs Attack!)

Although if it's related to something they already kinda have, I could totally see it being a Troma live action line.

Oh wow, you know what would be an awesome complement to Disney Ultimates? Studio Ghibli Ultimates.
