They have convoluted rights issues, correct? I’d absolutely love Abbott and Costello figures to go with the B&W monsters though.Visionary wrote:Don’t forget Bud and Lou.

Re: NECA Universal Monsters
There have been plenty of times when figures were revealed and fully tooled only for them to be cancelled due to logistics. I think something is wrong with either NECA's ability to do Dracula or its tooling and cost. He's been quietly shelved for Invisible Man, the silence is telling.

Re: NECA Universal Monsters
It's not telling anything. Invisible Man was teased back around Halloween and we're getting to see the figure now. Drac's a big one for the line, and I'm sure it does take longer to get all the approvals with the estate, compared to a bandaged up head sculpt.mattmurdog wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 11:49 pmThere have been plenty of times when figures were revealed and fully tooled only for them to be cancelled due to logistics. True, but they came out and said that some family member at the end of approvals/licensing [email protected]#$ that whole thing up. If it was the same case with Lugosi's stuff, I imagine they'd say so.

Seems to be on track for a SDCC reveal by that teaser. Glad he wasn’t canceled.

Re: NECA Universal Monsters
I finally saw someone other than Frankenstein's monster in store... B&W Wolf Man. It is really nice, but for some reason I don't have the desire for the monochrome versions of these. Strange since I would only buy the B&W Sin City figures. Maybe because ever since childhood there have been colorized versions of the characters in all other media.
Oh, and since this thread isn't specifically dedicated to the "Classic" Universal Monsters
I finally saw the Nightmare Demon (and lots of him) at Walmart. Hope to pick one of those up sometime soon.

Re: NECA Universal Monsters
So excited to see this final product. If this is a slam dunk, this will be one of the most satisfyingly executed lines in a long time. I love this property, but I can’t really imagine ever getting better figures than these.

There's still the Creature and stuff, of course, but based on how the Shape of Water creature turned out I have no doubts there

Yeah if Dracula is great then this line will be a hell of an accomplishmentMisplacedProjectile wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 2:09 pmSo excited to see this final product.
