Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
Got my 3/4 wave from BBTS over the weekend, but haven't had time to open them yet. I'm excited, though!

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
Well, that sucks. Haven't even opened mine yet, and Amazon has all three of them for $19.99 from Amazon proper, free Prime shipping eligible. That's $45 I could've saved.

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
When I ordered them from Amazon two weeks ago, they had Bluto, Olive and Castor at $19.99. Popeye was a third party seller, so I ordered him directly from BossFight since the other figures were a good deal. That Popeye was $45 shipped. I could've waited, but who knows how long that deal was going to last and it would be stupid not having a Popeye with supporting characters.
Funny thing with Olive's delivery. Apparently, the wind blew her package clear across my yard. When I came home it was dark and I couldn't find it in the general area using my phone light
. I thought I finally got hit by a porch pirate until I found the package the next morning in the bushes.

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
Does the fact that Wave 1 figures are being marked down mean that a Wave 3 is unlikely? I know Wave 2 is supposed to start shipping in February. I haven't seen anything about a potential Wave 3.

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
Seems like it's only Amazon marking them down aggressively, and when it was brought to the attention of BFS, they were pretty perplexed. It's almost like Amazon agreed to stock them, then decided it wanted nothing to do with them so they're just trying to clear stock. They can't possibly be making much money on each sale. And they've been pricing Wave 1 off and on at this price going back to December.

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
I got Popeye recently and really like him. Olive Oil was only $20 on Amazon so I picked her up and ordered Bluto. I can't say I know a lot about Popeye, beyond those three, Pappy, and Whimpy.
I'm impressed with Boss Fight. I hope they make more licensed properties.

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
Have there been any updates on when wave 2 will ship? Boss Fight's calendar on Instagram at the beginning of the year said February. But, Amazon has wave 2 being available in May. Was Boss Fight too optimistic on Instagram? Or are they really going to ship in the next few weeks?

Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
I'm thinking of buying Olive Oil to pair with Mezco Popeye, but I'm not sure if the scale or aesthetic would work. Any opinions on this pairing would be appreciative, thanks.

I'm not sure if you are referring to the Mezco 1:12 Popeye, or the older Mezco Animated figures they had. But this new Olive Oil is a lot shorter than the old Mezco animated Olive Oil.
Re: Boss Fight Studios Popeye
The Boss Fight Olive Oil is short. I was surprised by how small she was. I don't think she would fit.MaximumCrapping wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 6:19 amI'm thinking of buying Olive Oil to pair with Mezco Popeye, but I'm not sure if the scale or aesthetic would work. Got Popeye via Amazon last week for $20. Glad he was on sale, as I don’t think he’d be worth $35 to me. While I know they shouldn’t laden Popeye with a ton of articulation to break up his design, I find myself wishing he had more range in the arms and legs. For instance, he can’t touch his face. And he can be restricted balance wise because of his legs. The hat just won’t stay on his head. Thinking of using something like blue tack to hold it in place. Frankly, I would have been fine with it permanently affixed to his head instead of being removable. He’s a neat figure though.
I did order Olive Oyl as well, but I haven’t opened her yet. And Bluto who is in the way. $20 each seems a decent price. Hopefully, the Sea Hag gets down to that price as well, since I think she’d be fun to use with other lines.
