General Mafex thread: Movies, TV, pop culture (The Boys)

We're going to be waiting awhile for Starlight or anyone else from the show. Noir is supposed to release early next year and based on Mafex's releases, we probably won't have him until next summer or fall. Any other characters probably won't be released until late summer 2023, early fall 2023, or even 2024.

Got Homelander today. Man, he's a great looking figure. Just stunning. He does have the usual nits. His feet can't point very far down and he really can't look up at all due to his collar. His shoulder emblems can pop off pretty easy, but snap right back on. There is a thing for a hidden label, but that label is really hidden, because I can't find the thing. Ok, the tag was just smaller than I thought, and all it does is say my figure is authentic.

After I watch Ms. Marvel and Kenobi, I think he's gonna have to fight Superman.

You can get the feet to point all the way down. I think maybe your ankle joints are slightly stiff out the box. Had the same issue with my Mafex Hush Supes and was able to get feet pointed all the way down with some heat.

Can anyone tell me how to use this trigger stand piece?




I know the solid post goes into the bottom of it, but there are no holes on the figure.

I watched 8 YouTube reviews of Homelander, and NO ONE addressed that piece. And unlike Figuarts or Figma, there's no "instruction" sheet with Mafex. I have a LOT of Mafex, but this is the first time I've seen this piece, and I have a logical, autistic brain, but even that didn't help me figure out what it's meant for.

It’s just different options. The pincer part can disconnect from its current part and attach to the pole for a standing pose.
The pincer can also join to the crotch grabber piece and then be attached to the articulated arm for the stand (for flying etc)

This line is turning out beautifully. Its a shame NECA couldn't make a go of this, but Medicom has created even better portraits (and I do prefer 6" to 7") so I guess things worked out.

So far, we've got:
Black Noir
Homelander
Billy Butcher
Starlight (teased)

Assuming we will get:
Queen Maeve
The Deep

Beyond that...I guess we'll get A-Train but I may pass. I find his design underwhelming and the character a bit boring. I'm also not sure I'd buy any of The Boys themselves - Hughie, Mother's Milk & Frenchie would all be fairly boring civvie characters. Kimiko miiiiiight work if they give us an alternate portrait with the bloody face/dirty hair/animalistic expression and put her in all black.

I know they haven't been on a ton but I'd like to see some of the members of Payback: Soldier Boy & Crimson Countess for sure. Also Stormfront was crucial in S2.

For Mafex I want Stormfront, Starlight, Female, and Maeve coming down the pipe. Soldier Boy would be great, too.

I'd take even the more civilian-looking figures, just because I love the characters so much and I really want them in a scale that's more adjacent to ML. Especially for the extra heads with different expressions.
