Anyone have any of the Joy Toy mechs? I recently got some of their Warhammer 40k figures and was rather impressed. One of their mechs, the Steel bone one, has tempted me for a long time. Just wondering what the mechs are like in-hand.
I have one of the smaller mechs (the Snark). It's very cool. Moves fluidly and feels solid enough for me. The only complaint I have is how they packed it. His leg armor parts were just bouncing around loose in the box, and I think is cause a couple tiny scuffs on the body.
Not sure if it's comparable to the steel bone mechs though, I dont have any of those. I can snap a pic or two of how I have it setup later tonight if you like.

I have 3 of the 1/25th scale mechs and am quite impressed with them. Joytoy mechs by lionpride75, on Flickr
The the one on the left is the one I’m considering. I thought it was 1/18 though. Either way. I’m not so concerned with the pilot. Just the mech, so technical scale isn’t really an issue. I don’t need another line to collect, but I thought just one mech would suffice. As a stand-alone piece.
So how is it? You said you like it. Does the armor stay on well? Good heft? Hold a pose?
They have stiff joints, so I haven't had any floppy limbs or anything yet.
Most of the extra bits are on ball joints or pegs, so if you pop something off while posing it (I did numerous times with my bear paw hands), you can pop it right back on.
The only negative, and it's a nitpick, is there isn't really any clear guidance on where everything is supposed to go. I haven't fully outfitted any of them, because there are some bits I'm unsure of placement on.
If you had any of the Ashley Wood World War Robot figures in the smaller scale, these feel much sturdier than those but bring me the same kind of fun.
I don't really plan on using the pilots much, I got these more are larger armored robots for 1/12 photos, or to battle figures like Kong or Godzilla.
I'd be very surprised if Space Marines fit in the SteelBone mecha even tho 18ths can fit once the 24th seat is pulled out. I did see a pic of a 6" UltraMan piloting the WarHammer mech, fwiw.
