Dam it they had to do the Rescuers! well I guess its put up or shut up time on my part, In keeping with the line being in scale I guess I could just get the Penny set with the teeny B&B (guess they can hang out with jiminy cricket). Mind you having said all that Penny herself isn't going to be a huge figure and it's not like she has a mountain of accessories for the price. I cancelled my order for all of wave 3 except for the Red Queen and was not interested in the NBX wave at all. So after the Penny set the only figures i could see myself being interested in are.
The Cheshire Cat (hopefully with the white rabbit as an accessory)
Madam Medusa
Dumbo
Maid Marian

Rescuers is my wife’s favorite childhood Disney movie of all time, so I will likely get both- the Bernard/Bianca/Evinrude for her desk and the Penny et al for random accessories and two tiny Mice that can go in with the dollhouse& miniatures/action figure set-up that is our joint hobby together

Re: Super7: Disney ULTIMATES!
Trying to think where this line might go next.
They have multiple dangling threads to consider -
Continue the Robin Hood selections (please do a Little John and Maid Marian so I can forgive the Stork)?
Geppetto and/or Honest John and/or Blue Fairy (would get me to buy Pinnochio)?
The Three Little Pigs (announce this and I'd buy the Big Bad Wolf)?
Lilo to go with Stitch (personally do not care, but only makes sense)?
Madame Medusa?
I am pretty baffled that some of those have not been announced yet, as I think they would help sell the existing figures and provide some consumer confidence in the line not being a jumbled set of two or three figures from a film. Especially RH, Pinocchio and the Pigs.
Fun things they could do as possibly exclusive bonus packs somewhere would be the playing card soldiers from Alice in Wonderland - maybe make a set of 3 poses (these would be unarticulated) each coming in red and black, and pack in stickers to customize the cards to any suit and number. I haven't gotten the Alice stuff, but that would entice me. As noted, the Chesire Cat is noticeably missing as well.
I also would buy a 5-pack of the brooms carrying the buckets from Fantasia - they already have the sculpt - to army build that sequence. And I admit this might have very limited appeal, but the Ostriches from the Dance of the Hours in Fantasia is something I'd buy multiples of.
I'd have a hard time passing on Sword in the Stone figures. Maybe a good Peter Pan wave with Capt Hook, Mr Smee, and Wendy as well. Maybe Jungle Book as another non-princess film.

I would love to see RH continue after this. Or, my dream of dreams - a four figure wave of Mr. Toad, Rat, Mole, and Badger. I would love Black Cauldron, too.

I really, really need a Peter Pan from this line.
I would love a whole wave with Hook, Smee and Wendy, but I'll settle for just Peter.
Ultimately, my major wants are Peter, Prince Phillip, Hercules, and Headless Horseman.

My holy grail for Disney Ultimates is Dreamfinder with Figment. Anyone else love Journey into Imagination?

I love that Journey into Imagination is one of the few rides you can just walk onto at Epcot, but I definitely can't say I think too much of the ride anymore. It's just so dated. However, always loved Figment since my first trip to Disney World was in the 80s when Figment was immensely popular so I hope if they ever demolish that ride that it's replaced with another starring vehicle for the little dragon. If Super7 did a Figment (probably a long shot if they're nostalgia is mostly attached to Disneyland and the films) I'd absolutely buy it even though I'm mostly out on this line at this point. The only one I'm planning on getting is Stitch, mostly because the rest of my family loves him. If Big Bad Wolf turns out better than expected then maybe I'll get that one too, but I'd want the pigs too and Super7 sure is taking their sweet time getting around to them.

Absolutely. Figment is the one figure that would make me dip back into this line at full price.xTIMMYxCOREx wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 1:23 pmMy holy grail for Disney Ultimates is Dreamfinder with Figment. Anyone else love Journey into Imagination?

Considering I was there in the 80s - yes, I did. I went a couple of times as a kid and experienced the ride then and I've also been recently with the CG Figment and no Dreamfinder.xTIMMYxCOREx wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 4:24 pmDid you ride the original ride?Misfit wrote:I love that Journey into Imagination is one of the few rides you can just walk onto at Epcot, but I definitely can't say I think too much of the ride anymore. I'd love a Figment figure.
I would also love a Lilo to go with the upcoming Stitch, but I doubt that happens.

Re: Super7: Disney ULTIMATES!
There were a few interesting tidbits in the latest Fwoosh interview. The biggest that the Disney Ultimates line is just doing "okay", and this lates wave is a litmus test of sorts. I have a sinking feeling that this line may not be long for this world. Brian mentioned that Disney fans seek experiences (Disney parks) more than toys for their shelves.
I think that is true for some Disney fans, but I know so many that are both (collectors and attend Disney parks), that I don't think it's the underlying issue. I think the issue is that this line is expensive and the quality isn't to par with the price. And I say that lovingly as a fan.
There is no end to Disney Merchandise. There is so much of it. And the Disney Ultimates, at this price point, don't stand out. With the same $55 I buy my wife some fantastic looing Disney statues. If these were more affordable I think the general public would jump on them. But that's not Super7's business model. So they need to go in the other direction and make them really nice and special like other Disney companies do. Unpainted plastic, and poor articulation just aren't cutting it. Some of these figures feel kinda cheap, and $55 is not cheap.
The character selection is the only thing that has set Super7 apart. They were making characters that aren't as represented in Disney merchandise. But they went in the other direction with the Nightmare Before Christmas wave, and I don't imagine that wave sold as well. Despite me being a fan of those characters, I can by good figures of them cheaper elsewhere.

I almost didn't buy Prince John as I wasn't eager to spend $55 to get a random figure that would be orphaned - it wasn't until Robin Hood was announced I caved. Same with Henrietta, once they announced Ali Gator I went back and ordered 3 of her. I'd have dropped $220 in a heartbeat for a wave with Robin Hood, Prince John, Little John and Maid Marian and some throw in characters.
But I'm not spending $55 on the Big Bad Wolf without the 3 Little Pigs. Or Stitch without Lilo.
Re: Super7: Disney ULTIMATES!
All the more reason to have tried to fill in a few spots that they started (some RH, Lilo, and Three Little Pigs, for instance) and not extend it more.christianpyro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 7:26 pmI have a sinking feeling that this line may not be long for this world.
Not even sure what to make of this. Has he seen the amount of merchandise for sale at the parks, that there are Disney stores around the country loaded with stuff? This is like saying Star Wars fans just want to watch the films and not buy anything.christianpyro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 7:26 pmBrian mentioned that Disney fans seek experiences (Disney parks) more than toys for their shelves.
I agree. A big problem as I see it is that if you are going into more obscure characters, which I appreciated and was the only reason I bought any of these figures, then you need to have some sort of plan that lets people think they will follow through on the film!christianpyro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 7:26 pmI think the issue is that this line is expensive and the quality isn't to par with the price.

Re: Super7: Disney ULTIMATES!
Well that fwoosh interview was a kick in the groin for Disney ultimates.
I’m guessing the bubble on $55 ultimates has burst.
I love these but, in this scale in this new world we will never get to everyone. Perhaps reaction would be better for Disney?
The Tron stuff only being at the parks sucks as well. I get it, but it sucks.
