Connor O'Bain's customs

Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:35 am

Been a little lax on the custom front of late but as it happens my old thread is gone so seems like the perfect time to start up a new one

First up TMNT's classic Nobody.
Used a Disney toybox Captain America figure as a base as I liked the idea of if Nobody came from a law Enforcement background that his costume may look more tactical and the base figure just suited this.

I am not 100% happy with the finish as for some reason the paint just fought me every step of the way but as always your thoughts, comments and criticisms are welcome

Next up is my original first custom on this forum, Krang in his android body!

Krang is made from a Hero Mashers Juggernaught body/Colossus head with sculpted details. Krang himself is full sculpted but non removable. He stands 7.5 inches tall and has 10 points of articulation.

As always comments/thoughts/criticisms welcome.

Last one for today, Mutagen man version 2.

Used the nick turtles Mutagen man main body but completely scratch built the limbs and interior from polymer clay and hot glue. The limbs are jointed using magnets which lets them be interchanged and like the last one has a light up feature (which doesn't show up too well in these photos)

Not 100% happy with him but I recon by the next one (and there will be) I might be close to it but as always comment/thoughts/criticisms welcome

Meet my take on the Shredder

Pretty simple recipe, sculpted the armour from polymer clay and milliput and kept most of the original paint Couldn't decide if I liked the shoulder paladins or not so I made them detachable with magnets.

What's a Foot Lieutenant with out his partner in crime the FOOT BRUTE!

FB is made from Disney Toy box Mr Incredible.

He stands aprox 5.5 inches high (sans magnetic flame)

His weapons are scratch built and attach to his back via magnets.

My take on Monkey Brains from the nic TMNT series

He's made from a Disney Toybox Chewbaca with a completely scratch sculpted head (inc glow in the dark eyes)

I had a lot of fun with this guy (and yes I spent a lot of time making random monkey screeches as i made him)

Thank you : )

I present the mutant mauler and Shredders #1 thug, ROCKSTEADY!

Took influence from Ben Bates and Dustin Weaver's IDW Tmnt artwork and used a disney toybox grey hulk as a base figure. He stands a touch under 6 inches tall and has 14 points of articulation.

Also the powerhouse punk enforcer of the Foot clan, Bebop.

Again I took influence from Ben Bates and Dustin Weaver's IDW Tmnt artwork and used a disney Toybox Wolverine with Disney toybox Thor lower arms as base. Head, jacket, shoulder shells and details all sculpted

Used a BeastBOX BBPD Dio of the base with minimal sculpting

I’m sure I’ve said this pre-blip, I love the style you work in, and the use of DTB figures to fit that style is genius. Inspired by your work, I want to mix my Nick TMNT with my Toy Box collection.

Thank you :)

Next up is the Foot's attack and grab machine KNUCKLEHEAD.

Another BeastBOX used for this one, this time Eroris was used as the base with removable sculpted hands/gloves/eves so that it can still be "transformed" into its cube form.
