1987olds442 Customs

Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:55 pm

My original customs gallery was lost in the crash, so I'm starting a new one.

First up is my Ultraverse Prime.

This is my second custom of favorite Ultraverse character Prime, but this time in his final form.

The base body is the Caliban BAF. The head is a Hyperion casting that I got glassman customs to enlarge good while back. I did have to re-sculpt the back of the head/hair a little, and fit it to the body using my Dremel and o-rings. I also added some epoxy behind the ears until it was enlarged I never noticed how thin the Hyperion ears were. The hands are from 1/6th scale Deadpool that I bought off eBay which worked out great, but I did have to thicken the peg with superglue and baking soda. The feet are from a Marvel Select Colossus which fellow Fwoosher (GUTS_2010) hooked me up with. To make the smaller feet look right I had to Dremel down the lower legs. I used styrene and epoxy to sculpt the armor, gauntlets, and boots. I used Caliban's wristbands as a base for the gauntlets, so they are still removable. I ordered the cape off of eBay it was listed to be for the Storm Mortal Kombat Shao Kahn. I attached the cape by I embedding magnets into the shoulders, and gluing some magnets to the cape. This way the cape can be removable. For the tattoo and arm hair created the graphics in photoshop and printed them on clear backed waterslide paper. To get the waterslide decals to conform to the arm used micro set and micro sol.

I really took my time with this second Prime. It's Prime Time!

All the time you've spent on this custom has paid off, I really dig it, especially after reading your process.

1987olds442 Customs Smart/Capcom Hulk

Thu Dec 03, 2020 2:25 am

Here is a little project that I did for my friend GUTS_2010. He was wanting this done so he could use his 80th anniversary as Marvel vs Capcom style Hulk.

I've also been experimenting on learning how to mold and cast parts. To practice I made a mold of a modified enlarged Smart Hulk head that I got from glassman customs years ago. I re-sculpted the back of the head with epoxy so it would fit on either the DCUC big CNC bodies or the figures like the 80th anniversary Hulk. I had some decent results for being a newbie at casting. I also decided to make a video tutorial on how I use o-rings to fit resin head.

1987olds442 Customs Smiling Prime alternate head

Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:02 am

I've been work on making an alternate smiling head for Prime. I've been experimenting with molding and casting. I made a mold of one of my last enlarged Hyperion head, and a mold of a All Might figurine's head. Then I spliced them together. Then I made a mold of that combined head.

And I love how this came out!!! Thank you again for doing this! I have to mention too, the tutorial is very interesting and informative. As I already mentioned to you that my wife and 6 year old were very impressed by it! Image Also all of your Primes are primo. I love how they all have come to life and that I've gotten to see a lot of the behind the scenes work that went into them. Amazing work as always! Now we need to see more Ultraforce!
