Re: AV's 18th stuff - Wilma Deering, pg 1

Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:25 pm

Several centuries after the fall of Humanity; New Chicago rose from the ashes thanks to SHIELD A.I. Monoliths and their nanofabrication capabilities. Similar Monoliths elsewhere would rebuild other cities, such as Washington DC and their strange society of 'Sandmen' and 'Runners'.

As New Chicago developed a strange society of humans and A.I. came into being, whereby new A.I. consciousnesses are generated and 'raised' by the humans. This enables the A.I. to identify and sympathize with the humans; and after having been incarnate in robotic bodies amongst the humans for 50years; they may be elevated to serve on the Council ruling the city. Additionally, human consciousnesses may be transcribed into A.I. to serve on the council; but this is rare.

After developing an efficient ion engine, New Chicago established a limited space patrol force to police the Solar system following small raiding incursions from the Draconian 'Empire', simply a society of raiders living in the Asteroid Belt. In time, this patrol force would become the basis upon which Starfleet is built; following the world's unification under the Grendel-Khan Orion Assante.

It was on a patrol of the Belt when Col Deering discovered the ancient Space Shuttle that Col William 'Buck' Rogers was frozen within, tumbling back towards the inner system and possible impact upon the Sun or Earth.

---
Wilma here is entirely an MTF figure except for the left armband and the pistol; both stolen from a conveniently-bought Solo line's Mimban Val the day before from 5Blow; and a bit of papercraft for the collar and placket. Twiki is a junker vintage figure destroyed and bashed onto a Construx Destiny Warlock of one variety or another.

"Uh-huh; the moment when the angry black woman with a robot arm drew her ninja sword - that's the moment you knew you done screwed up bad..."

Using a custom-shrink of the ML Misty head with MTF bucks and a Star Wars droid arm I get two looks for Ms Knight to step out into.

AV's 18th stuff - Jonny Storm, pg 1

Thu Sep 17, 2020 1:51 pm

Jonny was exposed to cosmis rays due to a miscalculation in his brother-in-law Reed's experiment, and gained thermal-based powers enabling the creation of flame and flight. His exuberance and curiosity are an essential component of the Fantastic Four's success in their multiversal adventures.

---Jonny is MU Patriot's buck with a BnB wrestler's hands and boots, with a Star Wars head of one Jedi dude or another with the flame wig from the Fortnite guy with the first golf cart. I'll need to find duplicates of all the parts to do his Flame-On version.

Plain and simple AquaBats, using a Jakks Pacific BnB Wrestler of one name or another plus a shrinkcast of a Mattel Batman head from some long-forgotten garage caster (apologies, mate!) and the swimgear from an animated SpiderMan figure from one cartoon or another. The chest symbol is simple cut-n-paste papercraft. I was going for a YearOneMazzuchelli/MattWagner/DarwynCooke flavor. This is from about ten years back, I'm thinking.

Re: AV's 18th stuff - Sorak, Hero of the Federation , pg 1

Tue Nov 17, 2020 4:59 pm

As an agent of the Vulcan Intelligence Agency, the Val Shar; Sorak has served his people numerous times without most of them knowing he exists. He served in the Vulcan StarService and Federation Starfleet for a combined 47years before resigning his Starfleet Lt Cmdr commission and officially disappearing into the murky depths of Vulcan monastacism.

In service to the Val Shar, Sorak underwent a wide array of deep genetic enhancements and both MindMeld and traditional training; and has access to the most bleeding-edge of Vulcan technology and scientific advancement at his disposal. A unique feature of being a Val Shar agent is that mission debriefing involves group MindMelding as he's interrogated by his superiors at the deepest roots of his psychology.

Completing a mission by attempting to return the Halberd of Tholar, an ancient hero of the Aenar Andorians stolen by interplanetary art thieves; as a gesture of peace between the traditionally turbulent Andorians and Vulcans. However, the Andorian ambassador had never heard of 'Tholar', his halberd, or of any interplanetary art theft gang.

Returning his companion Petee Morr to Starfleet, they found Starfleet had no record of such a Lieutenant from Menagea III.

Returning to Vulcan, Sorak found that the Val Shar had never heard of *him*.

Now Sorak and Petee are on the run against their own, trying to learn why they never existed...

Sorak is an MTF build using their Contractor Ops pants and t-shirt torso with some full-sleeve forearms. The head is from the Lanard Primal Clash line. I filled in the hindarm sleeves and built the priest's collar and commbadge I.D.I.C. sigils with papercraft and superglue. The phaser and communicator are casts from JE Russell/Broken Arrow, iirc; while the belt is from the shitty PlayMates line from the shitty 2009 movie. The Halberd of Tholar is the sword from the Trollhunters cartoon hero kid.

Sorak is the end result of my thinking 'What if James Bond were in the Federation'.

Re: AV's 18th stuff - Lt Petee Morr of Federation Archives , pg 1

Wed Nov 18, 2020 3:49 pm

Lt Petee Morr had been assigned as an on-mission specialist to aide Agent Sorak in a case involving interplanetary art thieves. Experiencing some mild intrigue retrieving the artifacts and apprehending the thieves, Lt Morr's troubles really began upon their return to Federation space. After being told by the Andorian Ambassador that he'd never heard of Tholar nor his halberd caused a Lt Morr a moment of significant discombobulation as she knew Tholar to have been one of the Aenar Andorians' greatest heroes and a significant figure in the cultural/political unification of ancient Andoria. She knew it'd be impossible for an Andorian to not have heard of him or his giant-killing Halberd.

Reconnecting to Federation CommsNet she learned she herself apparently didn't exist either. Researching her specialty she learned significant events of the preceeding 104 standard years of Federation history had changed, notably centering around the results of the Federation/Kzinti War coming to a stalemate instead of a significant Federation victory. From there, she learned that a century-long fractious relationship had blossomed into full-on galactic war as the Kzinti allied themselves with Beta Quadrant forces calling themselves the Covenant of the Forerunners. A war the Federation was losing...

Now, lost in a wronged present with a past that no longer exists; can Lt Morr have a future at all?

Lt Morr is a bash of the MU X-23 figure with the boots, collar, commbadge, and 'Empire dress' cut off the shitty 2009 Playmates Lt Uhura. That was drilled hollow into a sleeve that was slipped onto the bottom of X-23's ribcage and glued in place. It's a snug joint with very little range of movement but she does have a ball-motion torso joint in there. The phaser and tricorder are casts from the inestimable JE Russell again.

AV's 18th stuff - TBT Elric of Melnibone, pg 1

Thu Dec 10, 2020 3:11 pm

Emperor of a fallen race, sworn to a callous god of chaos; Elric wanders lost amongst the Multiverse seeking his destiny. A destiny wedded to the demon sword that feeds him souls of those it kills, a sword that lusts for ever-more souls to slake its thirst upon and drives him mad with its wailing.

Elric is a bash of the MU Green/Hob Goblin buck with the McF Prince of Persia Dastan arms, boots, and belts for flavor, and a Rise of Cobra Scarlett head with RoC CoverGirl wig. The sword is a garage casters copy of the Army of Darkness Evil Ash sword that I've modded with a longer styrene blade I 'scrimshawed' runes into with my needle-point Dremel.

MTF MCU Falcon

Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:54 pm

Illegally absconding with the experimental high-manueverability flightpack he'd used as a Special Operative in his military service; Sam Wilson had set himself to his friend's path in service to the ideals they'd both sworn to against the government that had asked him to swear them. Where Steve Rogers went, Sam Wilson followed.

Sam is the crummy Hasbro MCU Falcon figure upgraded with an MTF buck replacing everything from neck to knees. I tore out the wings to add to an MTF jetpack with some helpful Gundam pop'em sockets, which also greatly improves their range of motion from swivel-only to full-ball; and cut the 'face' off the Hasbro wingpack to glue in place on the MTF one then drilled holes for the Redwing drone's flight stick.

The Quest Gang, pg 1

Mon Dec 14, 2020 4:51 pm

Along with his adopted brother Hadji and friend Angie Bannon (niece of Race Bannon), Jonny Quest often finds himself in situations in which he tries to help and often needs help himself.

The Quest Gang are all bashes of Funko Stranger Things or IT kids with Mattel Jurassic World figures to improve their articulation. Hadji's headwear is from the Indiana Jones 2 mine guard with the hanging flap resectioned to the back to be less cumbersome to head movement.

Re: AV's 18th stuff - The Monkey King, pg 1

Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:57 pm

The son of the Monkey God Hanuman was born of a stone and empowered by the Buddha's grace to be a chaotic champion of heavenly order. The self-proclaimed Monkey King Sun Wukong travels the multiverse seeking ever-greater feats of audacity and prowess and now hears the call of the Eternal Champions to gather in Tanelorn once again, alongside the Melnibonean Elric, the Hawkman of Thanagar, the last prince of the Vadhagh race, and Adam Warlock.

Sun Wukong is a bash of an Animal Warriors of the Kingdom Chunari with a statue kit I nabbed off AliExpress even before the AWoK KickStarter campaign delivered, with the backpiece from a random gashapon piece given to me in a trade from a fellow toy dork whose name I forget (apologies, brother!) about ten years back.; and then promptly lost in the chaos of my house. Thanks to the subtle help Monica Jimenez gave me in completing this. I want to find a good buck to slap the minotaur head onto, but it looks to need something in the 9inches range and sadly I don't have anything 9inch-sized.

AV's 18th stuff - Beta Ray Bill's predator form, pg 1

Fri Feb 19, 2021 6:22 pm

As the demons screamed across his homeworld's sky the Korbin people initiated a program to engineer protectors as they planned to flee their galaxy burned. One project in this program selected animals as the 'chassis' upon which a Korbin citizen would be upgraded to super-powered protector. The desert predator known as a 'betaray' (pr. buh-TAR-ay) was selected due to the female's powerful musculature and overall savagery.

As the process involved the elimination of the citizen's entire body cell-layer by cell-layer to preserve his/her nervous system, most died from the horrific trauma. Indeed, as the process required the subject to remain awake for proper mapping most of the survivors were driven insane.

However, a citizen known as Bill survived the delamination process, and the subsequent rebuilding process as mechano-genetically upgraded betaray cells were laid down to build a unique battle chassis. Although the source betaray was female the upgraded chassis has a unique tripartite genome incorporating the betaray, citizen Bill, and purpose-written code for the biomechanical upgrades. He's left with his original male genes as a courtesy.

In time though a tale best told elsewhere, this Betaray Bill came to be empowered by magicks of the Norse god Odin and granted a mystic weapon known as the Stormbreaker. One enchantment of the hammer enabled Bill to transform his superhuman form back into his long-destroyed Korbin form - and all the other forms involved in his protector state. Although the situations in which his source predator betaray form is useful are few and far between; Bill does occasionally need a body suited for evading detection as a superpowered being and which his civilian Korbin form is less capable of performing.

As an ambush predator in the high deserts of Korbin, the betaray is best thought of as a 'vulture monkey' leaping down from dry cliffsides upon far larger prey and clawing them to death. The unique 'withered' head evolved to minimize bacterial infection when shoved into the rotting carcasses of their prey.

The betaray here is built off the MU Colossus body with MU Beta Ray Bill's head and the paws and back splines of the Attack of the Clones Nexu 'cat'.

I painted up ye olde Toy Island Recharging/Repair Station for the Hiya 'Kids Day Out' Robocop with the spraypaint, gave the regular RoboCop some MTF hands because those Hiya ballpegs are irredeemable crap, and gave the JoyToy HellGrimSkullReaper chick an MTF head and cut the red skullface out to make Officer Anne Lewis.:

AV's 18th stuff - Uxas of Apokolips, pg 1

Fri Apr 09, 2021 5:49 pm

Killing his elder brother Drax, Uxas wanted Drax's birthright as inheritor of the Sight of Darkseid even more than his birthright as inheritor to the Apokoliptian throne.

The Sight of Darkseid was a ritual of ordeal for the Princes of Apokolips; surviving it as the sign of being a worthy ruler. If Drax had endured it he would become heir and his siblings all murdered in their sleep to prevent infighting.

After poisoning Drax the night before, Uxas astonished his family by arriving to the ritual in Drax's stead; several years before Uxas as the now-eldest would be eligible. Perhaps because of his youthfulness, the Sight of Darkseid had the greatest effect on Uxas over any ancestor in the thousand years of the New Gods' existence. Peering through a damaged section of the Source wall retained in the deepness of Apokolips, Uxas gazed upon the raw power of the Enigma Source and was physically transformed to have rock-like skin and eyes empty of any feeling, having been replaced by empowered hatred in the form of eyebeams connected to the angry vastness of the Omega Force beneath reality.

Uxas seeks the Anti-Life Equation, written of in dead languages from dead races on dead worlds describing the math that threads the ability to harbor Life into the universe and how it can be undone.

---

Uxas here is the MU 'Executioner' Skurge with the Hiya's Injustice2 Darkseid head, boots, and armor detail grafted in place.
