So, reposting this Medusa custom. Created a new head of hair with bendy craft wire. Also a face repaint!

Here's my Excalibur Shadowcat!

The torso is X Factor Polaris, lower arms are the upper arms from Vintage Storm, legs are from Vintage Dazzler, and hands are from Vintage Storm too. The head, which I first saw over a decade ago from a custom from Mat at Toymania, comes from the Danger Girl Abbey Chase. I always loved it and thought it was a good likeness for this era of Kitty. The hair, again another inspiration from an old Shadowcat custom I can't locate, is from Toybiz Hall of Fame Dazzler.

wow! thats a very genius use of material on medusa. id like to try that as well. from the last pic it doesn't look like its too heavy for the figure. great!
shadowcat's a seamless blend of parts. nice use of the dg abby head and digging deep on the tb HoF dazzler hair. works so well!

Thanks! The Abbey head wasn't my idea, it came from an old Shadowcat custom I saw on Raving Toy Maniac by Mat, who I believe goes by StrangePlanet now on some parts. Props go to them!

Re: RC's Customs and Mods: Medusa Hair Mod Guide, Shadowcat (Excalibur)

For anyone interested, I've done a photo guide on how I made the Medusa hair. It's currently up on Imgur below:

I've also submitted it to the Tutorials section of figurerealm, so we'll see if it gets accepted.

Thanks for looking!

Re: RC's Customs and Mods: Rogue (Outback), Wolfsbane (X-Factor)

Tue Aug 11, 2020 8:57 pm

Just finished up these two. Rogue is inspired directly by the beautiful Bowen statue. Didn't come out exactly as I'd hoped, but I can always revisit it when I have more experience and better tools. The body is all Wasp, forearms are Vintage Black Widow, and the head is Dagger. The hair was an old ML8 Storm fodder that I just sculpted on to.

With Strong Guy on his way, I've been making a Wolfsbane to complete the lineup for the past few weeks. The legs, forearms and head are all from Wild Child, and upper arms I think are Black Cat. Ofcourse the torso and belts are from Polaris. I wanted Wolfsbane a bit more wild, and I like how it came out!

Nice updates.

Just one thing to mention, I'd probably take new pictures, as your backdrop seems to muddy out your pics a bit.
I'm no pro on photography, but the backdrop isn't appealing on the eyes. Maybe go for a brighter background, as it'll highlight you customs a lot better as I know they're good.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I pulled whatever fabric I had that wasn't torn up and it was one I'd bought to use as a cape that was the wrong color, definitely will be looking into some alternatives!
