Lets See Your Dioramas And Accessories

Mon Feb 23, 2015 2:01 am

I apologize if this is not the right place for this thread, wasn't sure where to put it.

I have recently gotten into the diorama game and it is a lot of fun. I like seeing what people can come up with.

I am going to do a Deadpool diorama, and have been working on the accessories first.

You might consider doing a sketch of the scene you want to build or consider what parts you want to integrate into your scene (garbage cans, a street area with a stop sign, a fenced alleyway, etc) Starting off with accessories and props can become daunting if you put too much into the scene. Your figures will turn into hoarders.

Here are a few different dioramas posted on Fwoosh in the past to give you some inspiration:

Here's my Loading Dock

I'm working on a commission right now for one that is similar, but different.

After I finish work on this I'm going to work on a sci-fi-y type room, and then might make a new loading dock for myself.

Wall paint is about 85% done, give or take. Definitely have to touch a few things up. All the grey is just base coated.

Awesome work. Really very professionally done.
Totally brings the figure to life.

Quick question if I may : What color paint did you use for the brick work? I have been looking for a good brick red and yours looks perfect.

Is this me? If so thank you so much! (If not.. Well I guess i'm a jackass!)

I use 4 shades of red interchangeably throughout, then i do a very light dry brush of black over (heavier in "high traffic" areas) to grime it up some. I use apple barrel brand (find it in walmart) Tuscan Red, Flamenco Red, Real Red, and Flag Red.

Here's my latest commission piece, another loading dock. I'll have more shots in my custom thread or find me on instagram @resilient_customs

I barely collect super heroes so I don't do the basic urban loading dock warehouse you usually see peppered all over the net. I collect 25th and up joes and motuc and any line that is based off the motuc scale, buck and articulation. Also, my dios are built in display cases so it's one solid unit and has lights switches and lots of ingenuity. I like to make things practical so I for a wow factor make things actually work even though you'll never use it lol. It's just the way my brain works.

I thought I'd be able to add pics using the site through chrome like I can with other sites but I can't, so I have to use Tapatalk and they suck anymore. I can only post a pic at a time and it's a hassle cause it will stop working in the process of posting them. This is 4 ft long so I can't just take one big pic. Image
