That Wolverine is fantastic. He is truely a great custom. Was the blue nose an artistic choice though ? I don`t recall him having a blue nose that blends withthe pointy part of his mask...

Wolverine looks like a beast with that build, nice blending of parts.

Never been part of a custom collab before. It was great working with Shin. He knew what he wanted the mask to look like, and we worked and communicated often to make sure I could get it to where he needed it to be. And to see it added to his stellar use of parts and paint... very satisfying.

Great job, man.

It was great to work with you, too. We had a bit of a misunderstanding early on but the product you provided is magnificent. This custom wouldn't be half as good if not for your sculpting skills.

Also, he looks way better with corrected nose coloring.

Nah, not at all. He's in Select scale. If too tall, I can always put him in a crouch.

Oh I wasn't saying he was too tall. He just seems very well proportioned. :)

Oh, thanks :) No shortening at all, these parts just look great from the start. If only that torso and crotch could be as easily attached to one another. I had to use magnets to stick them together and still have some waist rotation.

Re: Shinigami Customs - Secret Santa Chote/Shoate, Wolverine

Chote/Shoate
Copy and paste of my long post from the SS thread below:
Warning! FRAT! :
For Shoate I came up pretty quickly with Demo-Man for the base body, it was literally perfect. Head was, again, a harder choice until I found Papo Toys Dragon Mutant, it too seemed perfect and had some cool weapons I could use.
Image

This plan went to hell after I received both figures, the Dragon Mutant head was too damn small. DCUC Aquaman small. Fortunatelly for me I've found a much better substitute among some old kids toys I bought in a lot some time ago. It was a small minotaur toy, I don't know the series it came from. I chopped it off and resculpted to give it a bit of an allosaurus look, I think it came out looking ok.
You've mentioned that I could choose a specific costume or redesign them if I wanted to. I'd say my interpretation of Shoate is an amalgam of a his costume from this art piece and Soul Blade's Mitsurugi.

I know that Shoate is supposed to be a samurai but I wanted to give him more of a rugged ronin look. That's where the open coat came from (thanks to my awesome girlfriend for making it).
And that's pretty much it. The rest of his accessories was a natural progression of the ronin design.
If you're wondering what's written on him - "dinosaur" on the front and "turtle killer" on the back, and the symbol for "power" on his left hand.

As for the small head issue. Personally, I think it's ok, in scale with the body (if it were a normal human head) and with the control art above. Still, sorry you don't like it that much. You can change it if you want to, I won't mind :)

Re: Shinigami Customs' 7" goodness - Ghost Rider, Wolverine

Thu Feb 12, 2015 10:18 am

Ghost Rider
The Spirit of Vengeance! He took a bit longer to finish than I imagined. At first it was supposed to be a simple headswap with Neca T2 Arnie but over time it evolved into much more than that. It started with me fiddling with the idea of switching his legs with Duke Nukem's. They actually fit well in size, including waist diameter. But something was off, extremely off when I did the swap - turns out the DN legs have a VERY tiny butt and groin section (talk about compensation in muscles). So that was a bummer. Until I decided to cut off the belt from Terminator and attach it to the new butt. It was great, I was ready to go and I even sanded off most of the detail of the Terminator torso (I was going to resculpt it). THEN I said to myself "I wonder if it would work with Dutch's torso". So I did that and it worked great. Now I only had to widen the peg hole in his torso and was ready to finish the figure.
He has a very detailed paint job under all the dry brushed tear and wear of his costume. I took a page from the Spirit of Vengeance movie and wanted to give him a burnt feel. It turned out very monotone so I'm glad that the flames contrast with it in a very striking way.

Recipe:
head - DCD Blackest Night Deadman
neck - Neca Predator trophy
torso - Neca Dutch
arms, jacket and belt - Neca T2 T-800
legs - Neca Duke Nukem
flames - hot glue

No PhotoShop here, pics are 100% real and natural :)

That's really cool. My favorite part is the dry brushed orange and yellow on his jacket. Very well thought out custom.
