Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
I'd love some Ewoks in this line!
I got Jedi Luke today. It feels kind of dumb to get so excited about toys I already have, but I love opening mint versions of these figures.
I hope the ANH pack 2 comes out soon. I'll be buying a few of those if I can.

I got the rest of the ROTJ wave over the past few days. I just love these reissues. I hope we eventually get the entire vintage line.

Do you think reissuing the original play sets would be a good idea? Part of me wants a ewok village and another part thinks is as dated as all get out.

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
I don't know if it's a good idea, but I personally love the Ewoks Village. It's one of my favorite playsets from any line and even though I have one, I'd buy a reissue. I doubt it will happen due to the size, but it would be great if they put it out again.Polarboy01 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 10:13 amDo you think reissuing the original play sets would be a good idea? Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
I would love it if they did some playsets. Dagobah would be my biggest want. I missed most of the ROTJ stuff as that was the age for me where I thought I was growing out of toys (lol I was so wrong). I would definitely jump on an Ewok Village as well!

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
Dagobah would be a much more likely set due to the size. As long as they fixed the melting foam issue, I'd get another of that too.

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
Yeah, they would definitely have to do something about the foam swamp, but in a way that disintegrating foam is kind of part of the charm of the playset lol

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
Was the foam in the Dagobah just a block of foam with a split in it?

Yep, that's what I remember it being. I've seen pics of some with more of a "+" style split too, but I do remember mine just having a single line cut in the middle.

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
While I am aware that the sequel trilogy didn’t live up to what most people wanted I did enjoy seeing the x-wing designs from the original concept art. How interested would people be in Kenner style and proportioned versions of that x-wing? Would people want to see the vehicles from those movies become available in the scale for these retro figures? It’s probably a pipe dream as Hasbro seems afraid to put out vehicles and play sets for anything not a haslab crowd fund but it is still fun to dream and think about.

Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
I'm caught up on the RotJ wave, Amazon delivered 4LOM/Zuckuss, and I even picked up an extra OWK Darth Vader to fight my Jedi Luke, whom I also got an extra. THIS was MY Luke growing up, I didn't have any of the previous Lukes. It's just the best figure. I wish they'd release MY Han as well, which was Bespin Han, also the best figure. And where the heck is the rest of the O12? I thought they were putting those out as a box set. No sign of them.
I'd consider playsets. If Mattel can do new versions of Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain, Ewok Village is certainly a possibility. I foolishly unloaded my original Ewok Village in a garage sale. The parts were mixed in with some Episode 1 stuff that I definitely wanted to unload. But months or years later, I went to look for EV, and realized I had mistakenly given it up. But I also don't really feel like a lot of those playsets hold up in the same way for me as an adult. I never had Dagobah, so I wouldn't mind having it now. I do still have my original throne for Jabba. I would love to see figures like him, the Rebo band, Wampa, Taun Taun, reissued in a line like this.

I never had the original RotJ Luke, just got the retro version. Is one leg being longer than the other normal?NORM wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 2:16 amI'm caught up on the RotJ wave, Amazon delivered 4LOM/Zuckuss, and I even picked up an extra OWK Darth Vader to fight my Jedi Luke, whom I also got an extra. Re: Retro Kenner Star Wars reissues
I honestly don't remember that nuance of the original figure, so I'd have to dig it out of storage to compare. But I believe the longer leg is meant to counterbalance so that he appears to be stepping forward. It's a subtle way to achieve an illusion of movement. The OWK Vader I got also seems to have this. Both figures look like they are taking one step forward with their right foot. It's no where near as bad as some of the preposed figures from PotF2 and beyond.burnside986 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 2:57 amI never had the original RotJ Luke, just got the retro version.
