Black Series is a big part of my collection, but I'm finding less and less joy of its current direction. I was looking at Yakface's list of upcoming releases, and realized how many I am skipping. Out of the 56 releases they have listed that I considered (not out yet, or just released), I was interested in 13 (A little over 23%). Basically 1 out of every 4 or 5 releases.
Wicket (which I purchased)
Scorch (Which I purchased)
Maybe Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jabiim)
Darth Malak
Maybe Mandalorian (with Darksaber) - if it's an improvement
Pike Soldier
Cad Bane (TBOBF)
MagnaGuard
Clone Trooper (Phase II)
Black Krrsantan
Darth Malgus
Endor Rebel Soldier (Deluxe)
Ki-Adi-Mundi
There are far too few new Original Trilogy and Prequal Trilogy figures bieng released. Those are the ones I look forward to.

I will troop build hard with the vanilla Phase II Clone Trooper (at least 10)... so it will be to my benefit that the line has slowed down.

After this latest episode of Mando, I'd love to see a figure of Seems like an easy enough one to do- mostly reuse with some new paint.
Was nice to see him pop up. I know people have been slowly coming around to caring for him in recent years (as they should), and this should hopefully only help that cause, save the few haters that are a given for whatever reason. We already got one of his characters on our shelves, I'd gladly take another!

I listened to a short Galactic Figure podcast on the Mando week reveals and he read a ton of Facebook comments and there were quite a few complaining about the Luke Grogu face sculpt of Luke. I don't get that. It's one of the best Luke heads I've ever seen.
The Target exclusive Stormtrooper Luke head was awful.

The head looks fine to me. It's the price and the pack itself that I find egregious. Not worth the price, at all. And with so few accessories? If I get it it would be on sale. If not I can live without it.

I just want to know what it’s going to take to get an Elia Kane figure. Katy O’Brian keeps showing up and *slaying* in Disney projects.

Re: Star Wars Black 6 inch General Discussion
Yeah this is a line I heavily cherry pick, there's very little I get excited about.
I'm in on most of the prequel Jedi, which are so infrequent and many need updates already.
I'm in on every single Padme, and we only have one.
I'm in on everything Knights of the Old Republic, which is finally getting the figures it deserves.
But the line seems so focused on figures I care nothing about like trooper variant 526, or let's just dump everything from the latest movie or show. Granted I've purchased most of the characters from the Mandalorian, but the only thing I'm picking up from Andor is Mon Mothma and I haven't even pre-ordered her yet.

The new Mando Luke headsculpt isn't Photoreal - I'd love to hear Hasbro's explanation for that when that version of Luke is ALREADY a digital file!!!
He looks terrible - and for $20 more! The hair doesn't look right, and are his lips even painted? Just... awful effort.

Probably because the deepfake is a flat image not a 3d sculpt.

Re: Star Wars Black 6 inch General Discussion
I got Mara Jade today. I am...underwhelmed. Shes not a *bad* figure. But it looks like the only new parts are her head, neck gear. They even reused the old blaster, which is inaccurate to what she uses, and the Lightsaber from Jaina Solo. Her lightsaber is extremely gummy, I can make it do a 90° angle and have it move back to neutral. And she has a hard time holding it. The gun holster broke as soon as I moved her leg for the first time. So I had to glue that back on. Luckily her belt is rubbery enough so she has decent rom even with the holster glued down. Her ab crunch is loose. I tightened it a bit but I may have to do it again, she doesn't like to hold some poses and just flops down sometimes. Speaking of which, she also has a hard time standing cause her feet are kinda small. Her ankles also feel really tight, I'm afraid I may break them. The face is nice, which, at this price, it better be. So, shes fine, but the price point mixed with her literally being an almost complete repack, makes me kinda sad. And I say repack, because she can't really be a repaint, when shes basically cast all in black. She has very little paint, anywhere. Her head, the goggles, her lightsaber, a bit on the gun, and a bit on the belts and gloves. The goggles also don't move, or come off so she can wear them. They are attached to her scarf/hood thing. I'm honestly not sure what I was expecting to be fair. Like I said, its fine for what it is. It just feels...basic.
Last thing... I felt like I bought a mini mummy when I opened her. I'll post a pic of what it looks like to pull her out of the box. It feels cheap, but is apparently worth an extra $3 or $4?

Yeah that Luke headsculpt definitely looked like a step backwards to my untrained eye. Thanks for clarifying what the issues are with it!JPC wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 8:27 pmThe new Mando Luke headsculpt isn't Photoreal - I'd love to hear Hasbro's explanation for that when that version of Luke is ALREADY a digital file!!!

Re: Star Wars Black 6 inch General Discussion
Got notification that I was charged for Mara Jade and Dr. Aphra from Pulse. The first Aphra was so nice I don't know if it can be topped. Had a bad experience today with a different Hasbro line so hoping Mara isn't too poorly made (hearing about the gummy joints is worrisome, wondering if they're having QC trouble across the board).
I swear I think I'm the only one who appreciates the low-hassle / easy recycle packaging. I think maybe it's just that I keep comparing it to how McFarlane and Masterverse package their figures and how I need to surgically cut them out of the plastic restraints they come in, to unwrapping a mummy is a relief by comparison. The plastic-free packaging IS ugly as sin, for sure though.
