Re: Star Wars Figuarts!
This discussion here is one of probably many reasons Bandai has cooled on moving on Skywalker Saga stuff, but probably not a huge one. Guys-- there are fans of the OT, fans of the PT, fans of the ST. Things go in and out of fashion. Different generations have different takes. People like characters and versions of characters from movies or tv shows they didn't absolutely fall in love with.
But, SHF is a boutique line. Not as boutique as MAFEX-- but the only line they ever went deep with was Dragon Ball, which they have a global license to. Any time SHF posts a new release, half of the social comments are from people in different fandoms asking for their fav to be produced. They even had TMNT and only did the four brothers. Is the fact that they didn't make any other characters proof that there just isn't interest for the 1990's turtle cartoon? Uhm, obviously not.
Their decision making is a mystery for sure. In this case, the inability to sell globally I imagine plays a pretty big part, even then, they've neglected plenty of other lines that have been hot and that they had global rights for, so who knows.

I do wish we would have received more consistent offerings, but I am thankful for what we got. Qui Gon and Darth Maul are still two of my all time favorite figures.

I wish they would have delved deeper into the Harry Potter line. They were really fun figures and I would have loved to see them tackle Hagrid.

Re: Star Wars Figuarts!
Sadly those HP figures were just not popular at all. They were on clearance like a week after release and still sat at most stores for a couple years at least. I think people might have been turned off by them being so young when at that point everyone was more familiar with their older versions and hardly remembered how young they looked in the first movie._jahue_ wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 4:12 pmI wish they would have delved deeper into the Harry Potter line. They were too expensive. Probably because of the licence, but yeah, no one around me wanted these for the asked price. They even pegwarm in the Tamashii Nations France website.

The HP ones? I have the three main kids and they are WONDERFUL figures! The likenesses are so good, they move well, their alt faces are great and the alt running robes are a great idea! The only bummer is they didn't give Hermione running robes - so I switched hers into Ron's and now he stands still sad.

I did pick all of them up on a great discount, though.

OH, hahaha. That makes sense. Without stands I never thought to pose them like they were flying.
Now back to the unmade Queen Amidala we all really, really want!

Gods yes! I would think that hitting figures Hasbro keeps neglecting would be to their advantage. Is the desire for those really that low? For a reissued Qui-Gon? Reissued RotS Obi-Wan? The only Senator Palpatine?
