X-66's Superhero Room and Other Fun Stuff!

Sat Mar 03, 2012 3:49 pm

I guess I've accumulated enough photos to start showing stuff off in this thread.
I've been hard at work resetting the main DC wall it was mostly Green Lantern before and Batman was at the bottom.
I guess this was the inevitable conclusion.
I give you the Batwall.
There are still 3 shelves of comics and figures above this but I'm waiting for some comics to come in.

Here's a little wider shot.

Love your displays, but why not post a link to your photobucket account so we can see that collection in all its glory! Your reuse of pieces to make those sets is extraordinary.

As always thank you for all the compliments.
To answer a couple of questions.
I'm sorry I've been overwhelmed lately by my own hobby.
I've been trying desperately to come to a compromise in my my mind about the room itself. By setting a few goals and geting the place to a state where I can feel content for awhile.
I am the first to say this an obsession.
My other is Star Wars
Everything was combined together at one time in one space but i quickly out grew this room and moved all my Star Wars stuff to the other side of the basement.
I own more Star Wars, Alien & Predator, Jurassic Park, LOTR and Star Trek figures than all my Superhero lines combined. 7000 or something close to it was my last count 2 years ago, that was just Star Wars.
Here is a small picture of my Clone Army.

:)
So now with things pretty much wrapped up here I'm thinking about starting a Youtube account or something like that.
But I don't own a video camera or cellphone. I have a couple of nice digital cameras but the quality of the pictures are not that great.

So there are 2 goals left to finish.
1 get a Video camera.
2 Stand up every fraggin' one of my favorite DCU and Marvel figures in the city street dio and face them off against each other.

I've done a lot lately however, vacation was last week; I worked the entire time on the room so now I get to reap the benefits of taking pictures for awhile.
To answer another question.
I get stuff everywhere I go, I buy a lot on Ebay only if I think it's fair I find even more in Resale shops and Charity stores. It's unbelievable the things you can find if you make a stop once or twice a week.
I've also been collecting for 21 years now, I don't keep everything though. For example: 2 years ago I put my entire 5" 90's Toybiz Marvel stuff up for consignment at the LCBS, but I keep the important stuff, accessories usually.
Anyways, I'll show you guys some more pictures now.
and here is the Photobucket link.

Thanks for reminding me Mr Articulate :D
I'll start with my latest obsession.

And finally the bigger picture, basically the same one from the beginning of this page.
but this one is a little clearer.
As stated earlier, I'm waiting for some comics to come in to fill those spaces.

To round things up a bit.
Here is the a shot of the entire DC end of the room. Including the 2 main DC Universe/ DC Direct shelves included.
As you will see I combine both lines together take full advantage of all the characters offered.
There should be no rivalry when it comes to toys if it fits, it fits.

I forgot to mention, the shelves are set up so that all the Villains are on the left and all the heroes on the right. Appropriate characters and teams standing off against each other.
With a few exceptions of course.
The Injustice League, Injustice Society and Terror Titans Each get 2 Amazos per shelf. The Crime Syndicate gets 8 due to the fact that I like to see a similar amount of figures on each shelf and I've run out of room.
In total I own 16 Amazos, 10 Doomsdays, 18 Parademons, 3 Imperiex, 24 Starro spores, 10 Omacs, 4 Weaponers of Qward, 10 Manhunters they are not up because i have to hang them from the ceiling due lack of room.
Good guys 6 Monitors, 2 Harbingers, 2 Donna Trois, 3 Comm. Gordons in tactical gear I think thats it...
and numerous other doubles, of course, that I rarely see because I feel I have the best of the best on display.
already.
