I was thrilled with the Classified Storm Shadow and it was definitely one of the best figures of last year....but I have to be honest with myself: it could be better.

I really think the Retro version is gonna fix the things I don't like. Those arm-guards and gloves looked cool back when Hasbro unveiled the figure, but honestly, I just want the regular arm wraps and bare hands.

I'm even gonna go ahead and give him an extra Articulated Icons chest strap cause I don't really like the molded in throwing stars either. I'll keep regular Classified SS as the "archer" version with his hood up, but the Retro is gonna be as classic 1984 as possible!

IF the freaking thing ever shows up!! Jeez. Probably won't be out til summer. As far as I know, it hasn't even shown up in hand anywhere, unlike Retro CG and Snake Eyes that have been out in Europe for a while, despite being solicited later.

More waiting...that seems to be the name of the game in the action figure collecting world these days...just waiting and waiting and waiting.
Don't forget Canada!! People who preordered the Retro CG on Walmart.ca have already received him. Not that I am personally trying to rub salt in the wound since I didn't preorder him and now I am stuck waiting to see if he shows up on shelves later.

That would be a great idea, but I wonder if they are trying to avoid, at least as a courtesy, doing direct cartoon colours right now due to Super7 and their Ultimates release? I know it isn't very likely, but I think the Retro line is a bit more geared towards the toy looks.

It's funny. Up here (Canada) Baroness sold out pretty fast, but yeah poor Lady Jaye is still sitting on shelves. However not to the same degree as I have seen on many toy hunt videos. When I see her on the shelves it is usually just a couple of them, not the 6-10 I see in the videos.

Maybe it is time to take a break from making Lady Jaye Hasbro. Her regular Classified release was also a big peg warmer.

I've seen that same opinion a bunch of times. As is looks like beekeeper or janitor.

Customizers have done some spectacular work making retro Scarlett figures. Seems like a a great idea for the carded versions to happen.
I would like to be wrong, but I am hoping the slow moving Lady Jaye and Baroness do not deter a retro Scarlett figure from being realized.

Picked up a Destro at a local WM - first time I have seen him in stores. There were three, so I actually had a chance at decent paint apps. Looks fantastic!

It was really a bad decision to release the Retro, which is basically the same toy as the standard release, during an overlap when the overstocked Wave 4 figure was available for under $15 online. If the Retro looked different, or if wave 4 weren't the most-stocked Classified wave ever (not counting movie figs), things might have been different. Yeah they should make new characters first but damn I'd love any significantly-different LJ repaints. Not this, "oh her green is a half-shade more yellow now!" nonsense. Doesn't help that the flimsy cardbacks make the retro figures undesirable to collect MOC.

As much as it pains me to say since Lady Jaye is one of my favorite GI Joe characters - this is all absolutely true. The Jaye/Flint wave of Classified was the heaviest stocked wave of the line and the retro carded Jaye just isn't very different from the Classified version. Those two issues together were recipe for disaster.

Yep, LJ was definitely a case where if they chose to go retro, they should have gone with the cartoon coloring like Zartan and Destro.

Found Gung Ho at a different WM. Seems like Destro and Gung Ho are starting to hit en masse.

I think the Walmart SKU is the last digits in Walmart.com's product listing page.

I suspect when put to clearance, these things no longer show up in Brickseek.

I checked a second Walmart and no Croc Master, but LJ and Baroness were still full price on pegs and top shelf.

Thank you! It doesn't seem to work on Brickseek, but I was hoping to check to see if she ever goes on clearance.

Checked brickseek, and no results. I know as of a couple of days ago, one Walmart here still had tons in clearance area. Her codename was "ROCKET". $34 online sold by Walmart.
