How do we feel about Two-Packs?

Personally there are a few that I'd love to see....

Covergirl & Shipwreck

I wish they'd drop Target exclusives and just do Fan Channel.

Yes to two-packs.

Start with a “G.I. Joe vs Cobra:The ENEMY” set with an OG13 Green Shirt (with heads/gear for Hawk, Short-Fuze and Grunt) and a Cobra Blue Shirt (with black balaclava, red balaclava and “Scarface” heads, and helmets/gear for comic/air trooper and OG toy).

Whatever gets more figures and characters in my hands, I'm for it. I could go for a two-pack of troop builders with a bunch of additional weapons and gear, or maybe a small dio piece like rifle range targets or gun rack. A Dreadnok pack of Ripper, Torch, and Buzzer would be excellent too. The only characters I really need them to release as a two-pack is Tomax and Xamot. Those two have to come together.

Range Viper (any version) and Rock Viper v2
Night Viper v2 and Frag Viper v2 (from Operation Flaming Moth)

Also, many of the Cobra troop builders could be reused to make unique characters with minimal effort if they made the Plague Troopers, a unit of Cobra comprised of former specialists in other units. We all know Hasbro loves cheap repaints, and fans love black repaints. Plus, they are comparatively new characters (they were only made once, and haven’t been revisited in years).

Finally, to help with diversity issues, it would be cool if the head sculpts for some Cobra troops could have different skin tones. Although to be honest, I always imagined the basic Cobra troops were Americans.

Well, when you consider that among the Cobra Command, Destro was Scottish, Major Bludd was Australian, Baroness is of an ambiguous origin, but has been voiced with a significant accent, Tomax and Xamot are from Corsica, it’s not too unreasonable to consider that Cobra infantry could be recruited from around the globe. Not that the comics or the animated series gave any indication of that.
Some diversity among the Cobra infantry would be welcome. To that end, different skin tones could be used. Somebody else mentioned women Cobra agents. They could also use the Roadblock/Gung-ho buck to give us a “Cobra brute”. All those would spice up the Cobra ranks.

Wasn’t my intention with the first message, just trying to generate support for Mainframe and while advancing the discussion on the way to update characters/introduce new ones.
Right on, my dude. All just me reacting wrong.

Americans have all kinds of different skin colors, of course.
Although I did always get the feeling (especially in the more-nuanced comic-book origin) that Cobra had a white-nationalist-militia vibe starting out, and it was a looooooooong time before there were identified Cobra agents who weren’t of obvious white-European descent (other than Storm Shadow, of course).

If and when they start introducing new characters of different ethnicities in the classified line, I really hope they bring back the file card bios. That’s something I wish they had done from the start to give new fans something of a background to the classic guys. For new debut characters it’s probably even more essential as even older fans won’t even know who these new Joes are. No birth name, rank, personal history. All we would know is what they specialize in based on their code name and what accessories they come with.

Tomax is a Target exclusive. Xamot’ll be a standard release.
