CC looks perfect.
Somewhere, someday, there will be a scalper that will sell the CC HISS figure. ill be in the shadows waiting...
As there are going to be almost 27,000 of them, Cobra Commander is not an army builder, some will be put off by the Mickey Mouse Cobra logo, and no doubt Hasbro will release him at some point without the Mickey Mouse Cobra logo, I would say your chances of getting him at a reasonable price are extremely good, so long as you're patient.
yes!!!!....Thanks for those kind words.

Excellent post!

I'm sure that pipping Victory Saber might generate some satisfaction internally among the design team.

Yeah the percentage of funding goal was my favourite part. It shows how the initial backing goal really affects the perceived success of the different projects, at least in terms of funding percentages.

It's funny because Galactus is the best selling Haslab to date, in total units sold, but because of his ridiculously high funding target he has the second worst funding percentage. Then of course the Razor Crest does well be pretty much all metrics. Second highest total number of units sold, and highest funding percentage. Thanks to the ridiculously low target goal (6,000). I mean Galactus needed more than double the number of backers to fund compared to the Razor Crest.

I haven't really followed any HasLabs until now, but I'm surprised they sold more Galactuses than Sentinels.

An army builder for the most popular comic franchise ever versus a solo character for maybe the 4th ranked marvel title? Seems like it should've been obvious .

The Sentinel was selling for crazy high markups a year after the campaign ended and before it had even shipped. I think a lot of people jumped on Galactus as an investment based on that.

Yeah I think a lot of FOMO, combined with $$ signs in their eyes got more people off the fence on Galactus.

Looking at the numbers again, I personally think the final totals for the Proton Pack and Skystriker really show how badly Hasbro/Haslab/the brand teams misjudged the ability of fans to pay out of pocket for these big ticket items.

You had 3 Haslabs running at the same time, during the lead up to Christmas, and it shows in the numbers. The Rancor failed with a target less than 10,000. The Proton Pack and Skystriker are the only two Haslabs, since Hasbro has been publicly recording actual numbers on Pulse, that didn't break 20,000 backers. While I can't speak to the Proton Pack because I don't know the brand that well, the Skystriker probably would have passed 20,000 if it was on it's own and not so close to Christmas.

So far this year it looks like they learned their lesson and the Haslabs have been separate from each other (for the most part).

I am of course ignoring the SW team's effort (the less said the better).

I know he's very divisive, but Bobby Vala has said while he was at Hasbro, they estimated there were roughly 15,000 GI Joe fans. I think this is around the time he was working on a 6" line which was killed because of the underperforming movie? If that number is accurate or even underestimated by several thousand, the Skystriker may have over performed? I consider myself a pretty big fan, I passed.

I had to cancel my backing for the Skystriker because of bad timing. Really regretting it. If Hasbro does a Nightraven I'll be all in.

VERY, VERY nice post! I've got your missing numbers.
Unicron squeaked by: Final backer count was 8,227
Sail Barge did better: Final backer count was 8,810

Did your numbers take into consideration that the HISS tank was 47 days, as opposed to the typical 45 days that all the others got? (Unicron got an extension and ended up with 83 days to fund, Cookie Monster only got 31 days and the Victory Sabre got 44 days.) . By my count, there has been about $65 million pumped into the HASLAB projects (that's retail cost).

I agree with H-Bird, having three HASLABS at the same time, leading up to Christmas was a recipe for disaster. Summer HASLABS is where it's at. I'm a little concerned that the Hellcharger is going to start late, again putting us too close to Christmas by the time it closes. I recall that the timing of paychecks becomes a factor for some posters. Best case, if it starts on 9/1 it will end on 10/16, but if they hold off til 10/1, it ends on 11/15 and puts two paychecks before Christmas.

Thanks for those numbers Niteowl86, I'll update that later.

I didn't bother with number of days allowed for backing. Rather to try and keep things simple I just went with total backers, and then the percentage of the final number of backers versus the initial funding target. That way people get the broad strokes totals without too deep of an analysis.

As I said before I think Hasbro has learned their lesson and will avoid the same problems that occurred last year with 3 Haslabs at once around Christmas. The prevailing belief is that the Ghost Rider Haslab will start in September, which if true will make it finish well outside the holiday season.

My other question now is will there be any other Haslabs this year after ML? They have already done SW, Joe, and ML is coming. So that leaves TF, GhostBusters (GB) and Power Rangers(PR) to possibly get the Haslab treatment in 2022. Since PR doesn't seem to be getting much attention from Hasbro right now (even though they bought the rights) I would say that the chance of PR Haslab are low. GB did well enough last year, but without any media tie-in this year I can see them skipping it as well. So that just leaves TF. Since Hasbro owns the brand, and Victory Saber did so well last year, I could see them trying to squeeze in another one this year, but they have been pretty quiet on that front so far, and maybe they'll wait until the new year when Victory Saber will be shipping.

Your presentation of the numbers has been stellar and appreciated!

I agree that TF seems to be up next. Looking back on which projects have ended in the past 12 months, and what Hasbro has done for HASLAB, it seems to be next at least. I thought I heard Dwight/Ryan/Dan mention that they wouldn't do more than one a year, but the SW and Joe teams don't seem to follow that model (SW should really be doing some rethinking!)

End dates:
(ML) Galactus 8/30/21
(TF) Victory Saber 10/10/21
(SW) Rancor 12/6/21
(Joe) Skystriker 12/6/21
(GB) Ghostbuster 12/11/21
(SW) Reva's Saber 7/11/22
(Joe) Cobra H.I.S.S. 8/15/22

I just thought of this, Galactus could be shipping DURING the Hellcharger campaign. I wonder if that will help bolster the numbers..

I have zero interest in Hell Charger for $300+ I don’t care if it comes with all those fan favorite figures like Mephisto. I have the Marvel Select version and I’m happy….

But throw out a Joe Haslab next year and I’m in. I’ve decided to cut my Marvel Legends and Black Series spending so I can get these Joes.

I am still bummed 2023 will roll along and the 40th anniversary of Jedi is a little less sweeter. I’ll drown my sorrow in buying three or four Cobra flight pods.
