Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
I'm sure these things will be clogging shelves at Target soon enough, so not gonna stress out over trying to get it early this time.

I'm always happy when there is a set I feel I don't need lol. When it comes to Lotus and Chakahashi, I barely remember them. Hell, I may have not even seen them in the cartoon and just remember pics and artwork.
Were they in the later Seasons of the cartoon?

I’m probably going to skip this one myself, Tempestra is really the last one I need unless they actually make Dregg.
Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
Yea, I’m super curious how this does at retail. I can’t imagine great unless it’s super limited instore, considering the past few sets kind of sat around and we’re now scraping the bottom of the barrel here imo (more than before).

Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
Don’t know if anyone saw, but that Lotus and creepy guy pack was a NECA freebie someone got and sold to their local comic/toy shop. It might just be a final sample and not indicative that these are hitting Target momentarily. I wouldn’t go nuts looking for them just yet, if anyone was going to with this set. I’ll definitely get it, but I’m not sweating it. I will say in my area most of the newest stuff sold out within a couple of weeks. There was a recent refresh in the CNTG sets that might still be there, but otherwise the shelf cloggers continue to be Mondo, Muckman, and the Wingnut and Screwloose set.

Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
I know there's the negative connotation with any of these "clogging the shelves" but I still like that they're easier to get for folks. Though yeah, the frogs are still around, and a few Wingnut and Screwloose, though it's all sold down considerably. I can actually still get Tokka and Rahzar from a couple Targets here.

Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
Yeah, I feel like a good portion of this line could pull over the average late 30’s early 40’s dad in Target whose shopping for their kid but grabs one out of nostalgic curiosity. Or attract the attention of TMNT collectors who might not have been around for the late 80’s but vibes with the brand… but these later deep cuts are gonna fwoooooosh over many heads, including mine, and I was a diehard born in ‘84 turtle kid. But Lotus who…?
So I give NECA mad respect for still putting them out, and still doing it at the normie price point for these guys. pBandai would use the obscurity to make some of these characters high price limited run web exclusives. NECA seems to be committed to offering high value and diverse selection at an affordable price. I know they play the exclusive game every now and then but good lawd, compared to almost every other US domestic action figure producer, they are killing it.

Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
Lotus is another one of those characters that looked wildly different from scene to scene though:

Not saying this is NECA's best work but I do think she looks good. I think the only thing that bugs me is the hair, it should be a very dark brown and the figure seems to have black hair.

Re: NECA: TMNT Cartoon Series
Did some tweaking today.
repainted all the spikes on Shredder a grey/metallic color. looks badass. will let it dry then will post pics tomrrow.
My inspiration was the 'PCS collectibles' Statue
Also repainted his whole shirt and crotch thingy, he has no cartoon lines at all.
I wonder why neca didnt paint his entire shirt? the whole back was black instead of grey??

It's a split shadow cel shaded animated look. ALL the figures in the toon line have the split color between front and back.Night Wolf wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:50 amI wonder why neca didnt paint his entire shirt? the whole back was black instead of grey??
