Slash is 100% a new Dinobot, but a worthy addition, to my mind.

I actually have a trio of them, since, y'know. Packhunters. Slash, Sluice, and Slice.

I got the Grimlock sword in from shapeways. Its... ok... I don't like the blade as much. It has flat edges instead of what a sword is supposed to have, and my other Dinobot swords have. But it fits better then the PotP one I have. I like the PotP one better. But this one will do I guess.

Slag review:

After seeing this, I'm completely fine with his size. He's slightly shorter than Grimlock in 'Bot mode and his Dino mode looks amazing.

Galvatron looking pretty great, as well:

I unno. I know its accurate, but I'm not a huge fan of the head being red. The back dino legs look like they're gonna buckle under the weight, possibly break. Where his gun goes in dino mode is an odd choice. And the lack of sword irritates me to no end. The horns are also disappointing. They look bad with those gaps. If I do buy him I may end up trying to paint the head just because I like the black look better. But I'm still on the fence. Odds are we won't get Slash cause she wasn't in the film, so to me the team won't be complete. And while some bits look nice, other bits look bad. The $50 price tag on something I'm on the fence about may decide for me. Odds are I'll make my decision if I see it in person. I was the same way with Grimlock too until I saw him in store, and I bought him and didn't regret it, so this may go the same way.

He is my favorite Dino--toy and character-wise, but that shade of red makes it look very cheap. Think the head just needs some accenting or something. Otherwise I can't wait to get it.

Slag looks amazing in the new photos at TFW2005. Very psyched to get him.

When is Slag suppose to come out? He still hasn't been officially announced right?

The horns are also pretty bad. With those giant gaps in them. I'm hoping someone comes out with a new set since they're removable that are solid.

He has not been officially announced yet and I haven't heard any rumors as to when he's expected.

I am looking forward to getting that Slag and the upgrade pieces such as new horns and a sword. It has great scale! Both in dino and bot he stands appropriate to Grimlock.

I have my nit picks. The dino head seems a bit too big and his frill a little too small. There doesn’t seem to be much you can do with the gappy back dino legs.

It looks really good though!

I'm more worried about them buckling and breaking under the weight long term. Especially since I display my dinobots in dino mode. Don't wanna pay $50 for something that's gonna break for just standing. But I don't have it in hand to actually determine how good they actually are, or aren't. They just look flimsy and weak in the review.

They said at Fan First Friday there will be a further set of Transformers reveals for Studio Series in May.

Galvatron looks magnificent. Slag too, but I'm no where near the anticipation level for him than I am with Galvatron. I need him and Rodimus Prime pronto.

Hasbro is killing it with the Studio Series 86. Can't wait for the announcements but I hope there are still some new surprises.
