Re: Transformers Crossovers
New rumor: Triple T with Sgt Slaughter coming from this line! No indication of who the tank will turn into. Rumor came from Sgt Slaughter himself, who revealed it at a convention.

It's an interesting rumour, and Slaughter has apparently spilled the beans before so it could be true. Also the guy from Full Force is fairly tight with the Joe team (he attended the animated movie theatrical release with them, and lives in RI). So I hope him getting on this lends a bit more credence to the rumour.
As for the project. HELL TO THE YES!!! Give me a new Triple T (I have 3 incomplete to make 1 complete and still it is damaged on the frame). Also a new O-Ring Slaughter? Again. HELL TO THE YES!!!!
If this is true I saw people mention Optimus Prime, or even Ironhide as possible candidates for the Autobot. I guess Prime could be possible, and I wouldn't mind Ironhide. However I think Prime deserves a more iconic alt mode vehicle. I personally think, if true, that there is a high likelihood that it could be Grimlock.
First he is one of the "Legendary 7" Transformers. This is an unofficial (not acknowledged by Hasbro publicly) group of Transformers that basically are popular enough to show up in pretty much everything Transformers when possible (meida, toys, etc) They are considered the characters most people (general public) think of when they think of Transformers. So that would be: Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Soundwave, Starscream, Grimlock and Devastator.
So they have done Megatron and Bumblebee so far, with Soundwave likely as the Thunder Machine. That's 3 out of the 7. Prime is a given sooner or later. So is Starscream, though he is hindered by the fact that aircraft for Joe are much larger than land vehicles. Devastator is probably not a good fit due to his combiner nature. That leaves Grimlock.
Second Grimlock is a "leader" in the Transformers mythos (usually) and a big, brawler type character. That sounds a lot like Slaughter to me, and would be a good fit in my opinion.
Prime is still a contender of course, but I would lean towards Grimlock.

Yeah I saw this reported on the Full Force podcast (short).

Transformers Crossovers
Holy freaking crap! I mean hell yes! I could not have imagined this.
This news has me as giddy as 6” Indians Jones.
Holy crap!
This year I will have the potential to add two awesome GI Joe vehicles in the Thunder Machine and the Triple T! And they freaking transform!!! And they will come with reissue O-ring Joes! One will he Slaughter and at least Zartan!!!!
Hell yes!!!!
Wow.
Yes I want jets.Yes I want a Cobra Seeker. It is an interesting thought that Hasbro is looking at the previous exclusives as part of this group even though they do not transform. But if they include the same Ravage they included with VAMP Hound then it could open door for them revisiting a VAMP transformer and even Skystriker.
I saw the news on the Slag podcast with Proto-Man. I do not know who the Triple T transforms into but Ironhide makes a ton of sense. The Triple T has similar length to the AWE striker with more girth. So he be a little bigger bot like Ironhide. Grimlock works too. I wouldn’t be disappointed.
This is awesome. Just awesome.

Re: Transformers Crossovers
I'd get a Thunder Machine and Triple T just for the vehicles. Bot modes are gravy.

The great thing about this line so far has been that the vehicles seem to get preference over the bot mode. So they seem to be working backwards from the vehicle to robot when doing the design. Plus they can fit the O-Ring figures no problem and are the proper scale to the original vehicles.
All in all it is like getting an ARAH vehicle for O-Ring with a bonus Transformer built in. Hopefully the QC stays strong ( I know there have been some complaints, but so far I haven't had a big issue) because the would be the one thing that would quickly kill the line.

Not sure I want the bigger price tag for the Transformer functionality.

Re: Transformers Crossovers
The price is steep. I got Megatron as a gift and Bumblebee is one I bought. I was probably $10 more than I was wanting to pay but I’m happy to have it. It’s big like a Leader class with less steps to transform and comes with an o-ring Joe I never had. So $50ish is about right. I think the ones this year are going to be Megatron money to get. It’s still difficult to see Soundwave as the Thunder Machine. Most of the bulk of that vehicle is the center where figures would go. So it makes me wonder how figures will fit in it. Triple T has plenty of girth to be a Grimlock or Ironhide. Granted I am surprised how they got a bot out of the AWE Striker. I guess we’ll see.

Transformers Crossovers
If you were curious to size.

How did we miss the clue for more offerings…

This is a pic from back of box. “Other hostile agents in disguise.” I’m on to you Hasbro…eyerollingemoji.
Man I really dig Stalker. I do not remember having this version as a kid but he was a favorite from the show. I liked his gun, beret, and his camo suit when it comes to the toy. I am thrilled he is the Joe buddy for Bumblebee in this set. I want more o-ring Joes like Scarlet, Roadblock, and Flint. So plenty of Joes to pair with Transformers.

Re: Transformers Crossovers
Street Fighter sets finally went clearance at Target — should be 50% off if you can find them.
My area got completely wiped by Christmas, but managed to find one single store with Chun Li / Ken for $37.

Re: Transformers Crossovers
I have less attachment to the Street Fighter franchise than I do most of the other crossovers. Actually, I've passed on a fair amount of crossovers. Top Gun, X-Men, Street Fighter.. just don't need them. Ecto-1 and the Delorean were big wants though. I also really like the Jurassic Park tour truck, but could have done without the Megatron repaint. I've started to realize that it's not Transformers that turn into animals that I don't like. I like the Dinobots and Terrorcons and Decepticon Headmasters because they turn into robotic animals. It's robots that turn into realistic animals that I don't care for. Some thing about the segmented meat sections that keeps me from suspending my disbelief.
