Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
I was hoping they would nail the likeness but this definitely won't be replacing my NECA Joker. Well, unless that one breaks, which is pretty likely being an NECA product.

Joker will probably look better in person than in the photo, like most McFarlane figures. The NECA figure is nice, but I still like the Mattel DC Multiverse figure released with the DeVito Penguin. I guess Bane will be shown Saturday.

Were more planned out? It seems so odd that none of the 3 have a matching partner
Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
That Mattel sub-line was so strange for Batman character selections, we got Batman Forever Batman, Batman Returns Penguin and Dark Knight Jokerjaygarrick1940 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 3:35 amJoker will probably look better in person than in the photo, like most McFarlane figures. I have the neca joker and it’s still ranked as the best one. I don’t play with him too often as someone else mentioned about neca’s breakage history I didn’t want to risk mines. I never did find the Mattel version with penguin at any of my stores unless I missed them somewhere, I saw tv flash, kilmer batman and Wonder Woman but not those two unless they were short packed.

So I’m guessing these go on sale Tuesday so Gold Label Kid Robin isn’t 35 bucks by himself.

These will also be going up on the 16th, so might look elsewhere to supplement the cost of Robin sadly
Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
He will be getting 3 sets of hands according to a reply McFarlane posted in the comments of that post, we may be in luck!

Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
Odd question, but for those of you who have either of the McFarlane horses- either Roach from the Witcher or the Dark Knight Returns horse- which would you say would be a better candidate for Scarecrow to ride on? I know it'll be hard to say until we have the figure in hand, but just going off what we know so far.
Just from the comparisons I've seen, it looks like Roach is probably the one that's better scaled, but I've seen many say it's a little harder to keep standing on its back legs. It also has the extra bag on the back of the saddle (not sure if it's easily removable), so not entirely screen accurate (which is a small nit- I know I'm not gonna find something exact unless I customize it, which I can't do).
Then the DKR horse has an easier time standing on its back legs due to the wider hooves and thicker tail, and has more of a dynamic mane, but also appears to be oversized? It's meant for the DKR Batman, which is a bigger, bulkier figure than Scarecrow will be, so it might be out of scale for anyone else.
What other horses, even from different companies, might make a good substitute? I've thought about the old ToyBiz LOTR Ringwraith horse, or the McFarlane Sleepy Hollow horse, but those might be underscaled as well. The recent Four Horsemen Sleepy Hollow horse has the benefit of the red eyes, but the hooves aren't right (and the biggest problem of all- getting a second one would be a pain in the butt price-wise).
I know all of this worry is rather silly, but it's been a dream of mine to have a Begins Scarecrow on a horse ever since I saw the movie, and now that it's finally possible to come to fruition, I'm hella excited. I'm cool with it being a little different (I know I'm not gonna find a horse breathing fire), but still want it to look fairly close.

here is a comparison of roach and the dkr horse via dhunter

for me i think roach is more realistic cmpare to dkr one which i feel is more animated.
i know others recommended the 4horseman horses as well

Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
Bane looks really good, best of the bunch. Less of a likeness to mess up anyway, but it looks like they really captured him around the eyes.
I liked the figures, especially at the time, but one thing that annoyed me with the Movie Masters is that they never did this “standard” Bane look, they only released him with the winter coat and bare chested. It's a shame this feels like a one-and-done wave, because I would have liked to upgrade Ras al Ghul, Catwoman and Gordon too. But I don’t think they would have stacked this wave the way they did if there was more coming.

I wonder if they'll do a Scarecrow variant without the maggoty mask.

Re: McFarlane DC Multiverse - Dark Knight Trilogy BAF Wave
Thanks for those horse comparisons, New Batman! I may end up going with Roach, if only because it's cheaper than getting the whole BAF of the DKR horse.
I'm biased, because I'll buy every Scarecrow variant ever, no questions asked, but I do dig the maggoty mask (try saying that 10 times fast). I absolutely love the Nolan design and its simplicity, but I know many have complained that it's a bit too plain. Throwing in the maggots is a fun, simple way to throw in the fear toxin and add a bit of flair to an otherwise simple burlap mask (even if, depending on the paint of the final product, it may blend in). Other than a 3rd party re-release of the Hot Toys Scarecrow that had the maggots, the mask has always been done just straightforward. It would be far more difficult to do, and quite scene-specific, but I'd love for someone to do a headsculpt with the bat crawling out of his mouth one day. Maybe Todd could do a regular masked, suited Scarecrow as a Gold Label release (heck, he's already got the legs for it!)
Glad Bane is the vest version, too. It always bugged me back in the day as well that we never got him. The coat was nice (you don't see many villains in nice furry coats like that), but you couldn't recreate arguably the most famous scene/fight from the movie.
