I hope we get KC comic figures before the movie/show comes out, and that the inevitable movie figs do not displace comic versions.

I think this is the correct answer.Chooch wrote:Could just be using that picture as it's people planning around a table.

I'd love to see an entire line of Alex Ross figures from Mcfarlane..Hell, make it a sub-set all its own, call it " Justice " and roll them out along the main line...???
And for that matter I'd love to see Henry, Ben, and the crew tackle a live action
film version of the story, or be it animated, or CGI, use their voices.

That's the way I took it, but didn't want to rock anyone's thoughts on it..

Could be, but unlikely. He had to have picked KC for a reason. Maybe it's just a personal favorite of his, but out of all the illustrations where it shows a team at a table, he just randomly picked that one? Nah.

Re: DC General Thread
Kingdom Come is a tough story to reproduce, with deep messages and layers upon layers of the DC Universe tucked in. It would need to be seriously watered down for a general audience. As many have said, not sure they are even planning the movie but I'm torn on whether I'd even want to see it attempted.
If a movie = more comic book KC figures from Todd...I'll take it.

Re: DC General Thread
I want more KC figures regardless of any media activity on the IP.
It’s kinda funny since I’m not a gamer, but I always thought KC would make a fantastic game.
Kingdom Come is near and dear to me. Any live action movie would need a budget of 200M or better and a vast assortment of the top acting talent in the world today. A literal cast of hundreds. Gunn himself would need to produce and direct. Ross and Waid would both need to consult. Make it the standard against which other superhero movies are judged. No sequel possible as both follow up stories were indirect at best and the prequel died in development. This is the ultimate superhero story. A story the likes of which our friends at Marvel have yet to tell. It’s uniquely a DC thing.
As an alternate, I could go for a live action Golden Age movie. A smaller, somewhat more obscure cast, told as a period piece with the old “they saved Hitler’s brain” trope. You could probably make it for 100M instead.
I’d say New Frontier, but that’s a 300M dollar film.

Re: DC General Thread
You can’t do KC without the iconic Superman and Batman. Snyderman and Batfleck are murdering thugs. I don’t want them (or Gunn, given his online history) near KC or the iconic DCU.

Re: DC General Thread
My Kid Flash figures arrived from the McFarlane Store today. I’ve always loved that classic yellow and red costume.
I took advantage of last weekend's 20% off sale. Ordered two of them to make the shipping a little more worth it.

Re: DC General Thread
While I don’t have anything against Henry as Superman, I’ve never been fond of Affleck as Batman. Not the right vibe. Too many bad rom coms and simpleton caper flicks. Not gonna participate in canceling Gunn because he’s the best we’re gonna get. Bay or Bruckheimer were never in consideration and Gunn is infinitely preferable to Berlanti. Beyond all that, casting would be the key to Kingdom Come. Especially Superman and Batman. For Superman, I dunno. A handsome, fit, aging, AMERICAN actor with presence. Clooney has handsome covered, but I don’t think he could pull off Superman. If only Stallone were 6’4”. And didn’t have that facial thing. Scott Glenn would be my KC Batman pick all day long if he weren’t 150 years old. Gal obviously for KC Wonder Woman.

Re: DC General Thread
You can’t just do kingdom come though, it’s the equivalent of endgame, there needs to be some years worth of movies and characters being introduced first, if this is what he’s building towards with his years long plans then great but don’t do it at the start.
