I’ve been a Marvel Legends guy for 20 years and a McFarlane DC Multiverse guy for 2 weeks.
Both companies want to sell you the same figure multiple times, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s good business. It’s the way you go about doing it that make a difference.
I think McFarlane is a lot more transparent. He gives you the best Batman Beyond that he can make the first time, and then if you want an unmasked version, that’s available too.
Hasbro pulls stunts like the Family Matters Scarlet Witch. On what Earth in the Marvel Universe is that hideous paint scheme they gave her “classic”? Lo and behold, here comes a “retro carded” Scarlet Witch with a classic paint scheme a year or so later.
With McFarlane, if you choose to buy both versions of Batman Beyond, you have one masked and one unmasked version that you can display. With Hasbro, after you buy the retro carded version of Scarlet Witch, you have an useless Family Matters Scarlet Witch unless you a) want both of them or b) you like the Family Matters version better in which case you would have no reason to buy the retro carded version.
Hasbro has been doing this a LOT over the last two to three years…and it’s one of the reasons why I’ve dove into DC Multiverse.

You needed to buy a 2-pack to get FA Storm ($50)
You needed to buy a 3-pack to get a classic magneto ($60)
You needed to buy a 3-pack to get 90’s Jean ($60)
If you started collecting today, you’d need to buy a 2-pack to get a classic spidey ($60)

So with Super Power out I wonder if the 7" Page Punchers are far behind?? They were leaked around the same time I think and I was pretty into it.

bottom line is you can most of what youre looking for for under the original retail price if youre patient enough.
Re: McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse General Thread
i mean this is fair but if youre gonna throw in that the mcfarlane 2 pack is less than retail now, target clearanced out that storm 2 pack and you could have gotten it for less than 50, same for the amazon 3 pack for magneto. I dont recall the love triangle 3 pack ever hitting deep discount like the other two but i feel like people did get it for under retail at certain spots. but it didnt hang around like i thought it would.maverick10126 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 4:49 pmThat 2-pack was $40. Amen brother. Hasbro is keen on NOT giving you a definitive version of a character till they sold you at least 4 others. insidious.Xavion2004 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 12:12 pmI’ve been a Marvel Legends guy for 20 years.

And pointless. They could make definitive versions of their major characters and keep them in rotation for years on end.MLNUT wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 1:13 amAmen brother.
