Beast Kingdom Batman 1989 Figures

Sun Nov 28, 2021 11:20 pm

I saw this the other day on Facebook & I’m surprised this hasn’t been discussed up here, yet. I’ve never been into the Beast Kingdom’s figures (due to their scale) but this may convert me since I’m a huge Burtonverse fan & they managed to get Nicholson onboard for this.

My only gripes are that Batman’s cowl isn’t movie accurate as it’s the one from Batman Returns & Nicholson’s face needs some more paint or shading on the face.

No problem & how do they generally scale up to McFarlane’s figures? Are they fudgeable?

Beast kingdom are normally on the 8” scale, so they’ll be a bit too large.

Okay, thanks. I was hoping I could fudge them with my McFarlane figures since those are well over 7 inches. Damn!

Yep sadly they’re not to scale. On their website they stated these are 1/9 scale, so I would imagine they’ll be taller than the multiverse figures.

Looking on the bright side, if these guys got Nicholson's likeness rights, perhaps other companies will be able to as well? Mezco? Neca? McFarlane? I have zero 8" scale figures and I'm not about to start with these. I'll hold out and hope for the best.

I'm just buying these cause they'll still be out years before we ever get that damn Mezco Keaton!!

Also, that's a very soft, generic sculpt on Joker...if they paid the exorbitant fee for his rights they got ripped off. Looks to me like they just "fudged" it and made it look like a guy in Joker makeup but not necessarily Nicholson.

If these don't break the bank I'm getting them. I'm such a sucker for '89 merch!!

It’s definitely supposed to be Nicholson, they posted a close up on IG a while back.

Well, you definitely don't want McFarlane to get the rights. The sculptors he use are not that good at doing likenesses of actual actors.

These look great, but the size is the issue for me. I would prefer 6", I'd settle for 7", but 8" is just too damn big. Hopefully someone else (MAFEX would be the dream) gets the license in the future and does them at a smaller scale. And also does a Danny DeVito Penguin and Michelle Phifer Catwoman while they're at it. But for now, I'm gonna have to pass on these.
