I’m all for Tut and Freeze, but what I really want is EGGHEAD.
It would be EGG-CEPTIONAL!

Hey. Watch the egg Yolks. We wouldn’t want people to think an Egglegant actor like Vincent Price would resort to Shelling cheap puns, when he had already Hatched an Eggcellent career.batprofessor wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 1:44 amI’m all for Tut and Freeze, but what I really want is EGGHEAD.

Finally opened Penguin and again just left disappointed. McFarlane have been so lazy with this line, having no hip, thigh swivel or ankle articulation just renders the figures next to useless. Which is a shame because headsculpts and the overall look is pretty good.
What’s the point in adding the fighting signs if you can’t actually put them in fighting poses? Where is Penguins cigarette, Umbrella? I mean he can barely stand, and without peg holes in his feet he’s just gonna be another one of those irritating figures that takes the plunge off your shelf just when you think you’ve sussed his stance and takes a whole bunch of other figures with him on his way down!!

Nothing more aggravating then a figure that can't stand with no peg holes in the feet. ARRRGGHH.rtec1 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 2:04 pmFinally opened Penguin and again just left disappointed. Black and white figures are an interesting choice. Was the show ever broadcast not in color? I don't recall any black and white episodes. I guess it's an easy way to reuse the sculpts and recoup costs. Hope that doesn't mean they're done with new, colored figures. If the line from here on out is just black and white versions of the previous releases, I may skip.

Picked up the Batcave on Target.com for $20.99, which seemed like a fair price. Def. interested in the villains lair and anything Batgirl that could come our way.

Re: Batman 1966
The show aired during a time when plenty of people still had b&w TVs, as they likely couldn't afford color ones. Smaller TVs back then tended to be b&W as well.joshsquash729 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 8:56 pmBlack and white figures are an interesting choice. Was the show ever broadcast not in color? Re: Batman 1966
Exactly. Even several years later, when the show ran in heavy syndication, many of us still watched on black and white TVs. At home I could watch on our fancy color TV, but when I spent the afternoons in my mom's shop, it was on the old black and white.Ash Talon wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 3:15 amThe show aired during a time when plenty of people still had b&w TVs, as they likely couldn't afford color ones. Re: Batman 1966
As for the b&w variants, I totally get it. During its original run, I only saw one episode in color. It was at a relative’s house, and they had a big ‘ol color console that I wanted my dad to take home with us.
