DC Superpowers 2022

In a recent article about the McFarlane presentation at NYCC, there was a line about him hinting at a new Kickstarter. While I’m sure it’ll be for his own stuff - Spawn and the like - I couldn’t help but dream of what a Super Powers Kickstarter might be…

My vote would be for a classic Fortress of Solitude playset, molded in white plastic to look like Kryptonian crystal tech with a Phantom Zone projector that lights up next to a portal (with an action feature that makes the figure disappear). A tiny Bottle City of Kandor. The usual stuff - monitor area, jail, trap door and Krypto.

I feel like an eight year old all over again.

Picked up Flash at my local WM; they had BWL as well but I passed - not so much that i am opposed to modern looks, just not interested in the character.

The earlier figures are piling up in my local WM, along with the vehicles. I'm kind of surprised more casual consumers haven't grabbed these with that nice $10 price point. I keep expecting the vehicles to get marked down but hasn't happened yet.

Hope we get another wave before the end of 2022

I already bought 2 of everything except for BWL, but if these hit clearance, I'll pick up another set just to play with. Unfortunately, I don't want them being clearanced out to cause an issue with the line's future.

So today I saw some of the newest Batman 66 figures on eBay - the ones that were labeled ‘Spring 2023’ at NYCC - and it got my hopes up that we might actually see Super Powers Wave 3 in the states by Christmas. (Not near me, probably … there’s a good two month delay before I see stuff in person)

Nevertheless, it got me dreaming about Wave 4 and what Todd might show at Toy Fair (assuming there is one this year). It’d be a perfect place to reveal a huge playset…

Yeah. That was revealed at NYCC. Along with the Batmobile (Hush version, two seater) and the Invisible Jet. We've also seen a Reverse Flash leaked.

I wish DC would modify the Rebirth WW suit to match McFarlane’s. Replacing the skirt with star-spangled shorts would go a long way to making that look more classic.

Not necessarily. They might just be well re-stocked. Last check they had pegs full of Batman, Darkseid, maybe Flash and John Stewart. Parents are less likely to balk at the low price.

Not in my area. A few sold, but everything that's on the pegs now are exactly what was in the giant cardboard display from months ago. The display was disposed of and the figures and vehicles were moved to the toy isle (in at least 2 Walmarts).

I like that these are plentiful at stores, but I'm worried what that means, too. I think they're just not selling, which is a bummer, as this and '66 Batman are the most fun to collect for me currently. Characters like Deathstroke is the the sort of direction I want the line to follow, and the vehicles have been incredible and wonderfully nostalgic. Hope the line has legs, or it moves to another retailer, maybe direct to comic shops.

Same here. The pegs at my stores have all of them even BWL and most are from the shipper. The clearance sale has begun. $7

Last check, my Walmart had BWL which probably replaced the peg space of whatever sold since last time.

I would have bought regular old school Darkseid.

I still have a ton of my original Super Powers action figures including the Batmobile. Along with my extensive She-Ras, these were my absolute favorite and most loved toys.
