Amazon seems to be pushing several items for 3/27. Could be an expensive day for some people. I know of the X-Men boxset, Indy, and Crimson BAT, so far
Someone locally in CT posted a picture on FB of a bald, mustachioed guy on the shelf at Target. The only two figures left.JPC wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 7:02 amHow is that a "no"? Misread your statement as asking “if the shirtless guy was one of the guys whose face melts it”. Sorry.JPC wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 7:02 amHow is that a "no"? Amazon dropped off 6” Indy a while ago, and I gotta say he’s awesome. Lots of fun to pose, looks great punching Nazis (or at least the Red Skull).

I take it Indy didn’t need a hot water bath to free up those old achy joints like all the D&D wave? Congratulations on receiving your Indy by the way!aceofknaves wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:35 pmAmazon dropped off 6” Indy a while ago, and I gotta say he’s awesome. Found one retro Indy at my Target this morning. I went there around 3pm yesterday and didn't' see any on the pegs.

Re: Indiana Jones 5 and the Quest for Merchandise
I got my Indy today from amazon and am honestly disappointed. It's not a bad figure but not a great figure, just very average. This being arguably Indy's most iconic appearance I was really hoping Hasbro would take the time to do the figure right. Here's my little list of the good and the bad:
The good:
Articulation is on par with most modern black series figures and is perfectly adequate for Indy.
I really like the dry brushing on his hat, jacket, and pants, it makes a very convincing worn leather look.
He has a good selection of hands and the fertility idol is a very nice gold.
In general he has a wide selection of accessories which is really nice to see even if some of them aren't perfect.
The bad:
The likeness to Harrison Ford is even worse than I thought it would be. This looks like a stunt double or a disneyland animatronic. There are no angles where I recognize this as being Harrison Ford.
His pistol looks very small, I'm not a gun expert so this might be accurate but it looks off.
The loop to hold his wrapped up whip will not stay closed. I tried heat to help shape the material but that didn't help. it looks bad and doesn't work.
His "whipping" whip looks awful I'm assuming because of the packaging. I can not find a pose where it looks like he's actually whipping so the accessory is basically useless.
His shirt is way glossier than all of the other plastic (solvable with matte clear coat but still not good)
The way his butterfly joint is constructed is not very stable and I'm worried about stressing and potentially breaking the plastic.
I know I'm kind of picking nits with my complaints but I was really hoping with this being Indy's iconic look from Raiders that Hasbro would go the extra mile to make a home run of a figure but he's really just average at best.

Re: Indiana Jones 5 and the Quest for Merchandise
This was more or less my assessment when I first saw the figure. Mostly a "well, that one I'll wait to get on sale...maybe" judgement. Hopefully the Last Crusade and Temple of Doom Indie's look better, as ToD had a more unique ripped -shirt look, whereas I could probably get by with the standard look Indie from LC to represent the Raiders one as well. I also don't know how much longevity this line has if they're not going to build out multiple German soldiers. Most of the people who are legitimately Indiana Jones fans are people who grew up with the movies. Maybe the ride at Disneyland inspires a little more fandom for younger folks, but I don't see too many younger folks who mention the movies seemingly ever or know who the character is. I've literally had multiple 20-somethings tell me about Harry Potter, HungerGames, Twilight, etc. but then look at me blankly when I ask if they've ever seen an Indiana Jones film. One of them mentioned seeing Crystal Skull but said they didn't think it was that good so they didn't bother watching the others. Another said they had heard of the Crystal Skull film, but didn't know there were others and thought THAT was the film the Disney ride was based off of. Plus after seeing this entire line, I still only want 1, maybe 2 figures from it, and both are Indiana Jones himself. Nothing against those who are all in on this line; just providing some outside perspective from those of us who love the films but don't need/want much from the toy line.Estus_Refill wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 3:20 amI got my Indy today from amazon and am honestly disappointed. Got mine from Amazon today. It's a neat figure but I wish I could figure out a way to make the whip holding loop stay in place

Re: Indiana Jones 5 and the Quest for Merchandise
The rendering of the figure on the box art has the little strap piece tucked over the top of the belt and attached from the backside, so instead of just closing like a flap like the gun holster it makes kind of a loop around the belt with the whip in itBurnKnuckle21 wrote:Got mine from Amazon today. Interesting. I just tried that and the belt is super tight so it seems like it would be really hard to maneuver the loop behind it. I'll have to try it some more maybe with warm water to loosen it bit.Ecto121 wrote:The rendering of the figure on the box art has the little strap piece tucked over the top of the belt and attached from the backside, so instead of just closing like a flap like the gun holster it makes kind of a loop around the belt with the whip in itBurnKnuckle21 wrote:Got mine from Amazon today. Re: Indiana Jones 5 and the Quest for Merchandise
I got my Indy on Friday and I love him!
Seems like the whip loop is a common issue, but I stuck tweezers behind the belt to give it clearance to close and it's been fine ever since.
I personally like the likeness and am really excited for the Club Obi-Wan Indy.
I'm really hoping this line does well, I need the principal cast from each movie and I'm really concerned that Willie isn't among any of the leaks.
