Ya, wave 1 never showed up here. I recall seeing a single sighting from Quebec, but nothing other than that. I'm also pretty sure Steve Ozer from Mattel confirmed that they no longer have Sting merch rights, so they couldn't re-release him, even if they did reissue wave 1. A single packed Cena seems like he would fit right in though, if they ever decided to do so. Now that I think about it, do exclusive sets of figures ever see re-releases? If they do comeback they seem to be at least somewhat different (only ones I can think of are some Transformers that had different packaging when they came back around).

Speaking of potentially repacking Cena, this was posted a while ago, the 2-pack figures single packed. I'm thinking it may not be real though. Not seeing a minicomic back there. Perhaps a MOC collector putting in some work to make them fit in with the rest? We'll probably find out soon.

Interesting. It would make sense to single-pack them eventually. Especially with HHH and Cena, since they were packed with the Grayskull ring which you could also buy without the figures and this is a nice way to not make people buy two rings.
I've still never seen the Snake Mountain ring here, which is the one my son wants. And all the Grayskull rings are long gone.

The printing of the character names on those cards looks off. Look like customs to me.

Ya, Terror Claws in particular looks real bad. Part of the logo is also cut off on Hogan's box. Could probably find more little problems.

Yea, those definitely are a custom job.

If anything, Mattel has shown that they will do variants over straight reissuing, I assume because being Wal-Mart exclusive, they need to make every slot count. A straight reissue means people who already own a figure will pass, while a new variant makes both new and old collectors purchase.

We already have seen variants of Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior so far.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Wave 8 had NWO Hogan.

New Hogan and Austin seem more than likely. I'm surprised we haven't seen another Rock without the mutton chops, or another championship for that matter (or Undertaker, who that one fellow claimed saved the line). I do think it was odd that this Cena was never in circulation as its own release though, he seems like a good standard hero Cena figure, as opposed to the Faker one we got in wave 2.

Those customs are nice.

I just tried to do a reorder from Biglots.com on shipping out the Cena/HHH ring after they cancelled my last order.Fingers crossed this one goes through.

Hate Cena but the ice ax and shield are nice

Oddly enough my local stores are restocking wave 5 and not 6.

Grabbed Ricky, passed on him before but with so many more Legends in the next wave, might as well get him now.

I’m so sad to hear Wave 8 will be the last wave of this wonderful little X over sub line.

Image

Mattel could’ve easily gone another 3 waves with a playset or vehicle to end it all perfectly.

I’m going to miss it but not it’s distribution.

The new line looks ok but it won’t have the same feeling I’m sure. Atleast Flair made it.

As for Wave 8 I’m kinda hit or miss on it.

Stone Cold looks good as Trap Jaw but I’d rather have had someone other than Chyna be She Ra and the Rey Mysterio just seems like a re hash imo.

Anyway RIP WWE Masters of the Universe

Yea, same bodies, but just entirely about wrestling.

I’ll grab Chyna, I don’t think this Stone Cold or Mysterio are better than the previous ones.

Don’t really see how Trapjaw parts make sense for Stone Cold, seems a bit rushed.
