Or we could just buy Kim and put the new head on the old body or just replace only Kim, cause it's not like other teams don't have a mix of pinless and pinned joints. Like the above mentioned Dino Charge team. And Time Force. And Dino Thunder. And I'm gonna guess Lost Galaxy will be like that. And probably SPD. And Wild Force.
Hey, if people can resit the urge to buy the whole team and just get the ones they feel are most in need up updates, more power to them. Are there other Ranger teams that have a mix if pinless and pinned joints? The MMPR reissues are the only ones I know of so far but I admit I don't pay close attention to other teams. For me personally, the uniformity is what gets me. If my Avengers have a mix of the different tooling, no big deal. They all have their own distinct look anyway. MAYBE I will surprise myself and I CAN just replace one or two. Or none! Still undecided.
The list you quoted from me is the list of teams that will have mixed pins and pinless. Almost every team out so far will be mixed, and apparently In Space will have it with silver as per the post a above mine.

I think they’re fan channel exclusives, which Amazon doesn’t usually carry. I want to say target doesn’t either

If fan channel, the only "big box" store that would have them would be gamestop. Otherwise, i'd use BBTS or EE.

Are pinless joints considered that big of an upgrade for most collectors? Genuinely curious. It feels more like a marketing thing by Hasbro to me. There are sculpts that clearly benefit from a pinless approach like Spider-Man and his red outer arms and blue inner arms, but the majority of figures don't have that same issue. I've never looked at a pin on a figure and considered it an eyesore, but that could just be me. Now if we're just using the pinless description as a way to differentiate between sculpts then that makes more sense to me. The new female arms, in particular, have a much better shape to them in Marvel Legends than the older, more spindly ones with single-jointed elbows. I think it's less of a concern with Power Rangers since we're talking live actors in costumes and not muscled super heroes, but just the addition of a double-joint at the elbow might be reason enough to upgrade. Though with Power Rangers, I could see one finding the pinless joints less appealing given that the joining piece tends to be off-colored and might bother some more than others. All that is to say, if the Red Ranger reissue improves upon the things I took issue with on the original release, buying that won't make me feel like I need to re-buy the rest of the MMPR team because one has pins and one doesn't. If anything, it would just be the belts not matching that would bother me, which would just lead to me getting out a fine point pen to fix the others.

I'm in the same boat, I don't mind pins at all and most of the time I don't notice them. Plus, even Mattel was doing it on their awful DC figures from years ago, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be some revolutionary thing. It looks better on some characters like the Spider-Man example I guess but it makes it annoying to customize.

No, pinless is not a big deal at all, and it's not the revolutionary price-upping technology Hasbro wants you to think. As mentioned above, Mattel was using it years ago in the final days of their DC license, and it didn't up their prices any.

In the case of the reissue Power Rangers, I'm more interested in more accurate helmets on certain Rangers than I am about any pinless joints.

Oh damn I didn’t realize these reissues for mmpr we’re going to be a mix of figures with pins and pinless. That will bother me… especially since the guys should all be able to use the same parts and the girls aswell?

I prefer pinless joints. They look better, especially for bare limbs. However, it in no way justifies the cost increase of figures. Its not even a new thing. There are legends figures that had pinless joints before Hasbro started using it for marketing purposes.

It's only a cost increase in the sense that Hasbro loves to reuse molds and switching to pinless requires investing in new tools. That's basically it. I don't think it costs anymore to engineer a pinned joint than it does a pinless one, and if it does it's miniscule when spread across a bunch of figures. Hasbro is just very good at getting their consumer base to buy into their cost concerns when discussing the price on figures.

On the topic of pinless vs. pins, I really don't care if the figure has pins, but a few nice upgrades, like better helmets, and double jointed elbows for the Kim and Trini would definitely get me to go in on those figures.

On a different topic, got Dino Charge blue and the hips, they look like drop down hips, are insanely loose. I've seen others with this, so it's a least a common enough problem, but anyone have a good fix for this?

It may bother some people to have a mix of pin and pinless figures for the same team. I have a small bit of OCD (not as bad as some people, but its there), and it still doesn't bother me. And I never cared about the pins either, I can just paint them if they're the wrong color, like on Spiderman or the Dino Thunder team. It's just an aesthetic issue for some.

I saw a 30th anniversary tagged red and yellow MMPR figure at Walmart tonight that came with a coin and all white weapons.

I haven't been keeping up, are those ANOTHER version of the MMPR team being released?

Ah, thanks. With the renders it was kind of hard to tell if they were actually new LC versions or not.
