Server Upgrades and Downtime

Thu Jan 16, 2014 12:26 am

We're currently in the beginning processes of a complete server upgrade so things may be a bit shaky this evening, tonight, and tomorrow. So if you get errors and such, it's on purpose. We'll be back as soon as possible.

Is this still happening? I'm getting serious lag on both front end and back end, but I don't know if its something on my end of things or not.

We are still having issues. The new server is exposing some issues on the software, we are continuing to work on it.

If it helps, I am getting an error message about an unresponsive script on every page. It's http://thefwoosh.com/cdn-cgi/nexp/dok2v ... ocket.js:3

EDIT: Just to see if it would help, I loaded up NoScript (I'm a Firefox user). The site is still slower than molasses in January to load at first, but forum pages now load about 50% faster. Good luck with the bug hunting!

Working on it. One of them we can address, the other will require more time.

Site loads erraticlly - sometimes slow, sometimes fast. At work, the images in posts don't load. I just see a spinning wheel. Works fine at home. Is this an IE setting?

Site lag is a little better today, btw. Its still not great, definitely not quick but pages are loading at least. I'm having to hit the reload/X function on chrome to kill the continuous thinking and just get the page to appear a lot of times when I'm navigating though. If I go too quick, I get the confirm box and it seems to wanna dbl post.

Yesterday we implemented a work around which was causing some of the issues you guys described. We had scheduled maintenance tonight that I have to follow up on that should lead to improvements. It is not an IE setting.

We'll continue to work on things over the next few weeks. I can see that thefwoosh.com and thefwoosh.com/forum are performing way better than they were.

Yes, things are much faster and smoother this weekend. Now to see if the site survives Toy Fair!

Is there some kind of work going on with the forum? For whatever reason it isn't loading up the pages properly from the e-mail thread subscription and I have to backdoor access through a google search to get into the forum on Chrome. When I hit on the link it basically takes me to a old site will be down for maintenance screen instead of the forum. Any help would be appreciated.
