It does feel like we've been waiting a long time to finish up these Koopa Kids. Hopefully soon they will be complete. I did get Wendy today. I couldn't ever find her at retail, but I went to Amazon and was able to get her for a few bucks over retail price.
Veebs recently pointed out that it’s been five years since the first one came out. Insane that it’s taken this long.
For how long this line has been running I'm impressed at how consistent the Koopa Kids are with eachother.
DK and Diddy starting to show up at Walmart. Curious to see some loose pics of DK to get an idea of his size.
Just picked up DK, they didn't have Diddy though...
Standing straight up he's taller than Luigi, but he's more natural on his knuckles like in the Donkey Kong Country series.
I like this scale much better than that weird oversized one.
that DK looks short to me, should be taller. i dont remember diddy coming with a barrel?
wow that Diddy Kong looks fantastic, bought-on-sight. Which might be never bc going to walmart is such a bummer.
@nightwolf the barrel is new.
I like this DK because he feels like his Mario Party/Mario Kart proportions.
The other one was just way too big, he shouldn't be bigger than Bowser.
went to walmrt but didnt find Diddy with the new barrel. all they had was boom boom but not into him.
It's always been strange to me that Jakks doesn't really have announcements for stuff. It just kinda shows up in stores and that's it.
Picked up DK and Diddy last night.
Diddy is about identical to his original release. Slight change on color of his fur and… non-fur? parts that help him match closer to the new DK. The added eye detail is there but the brown is SO dark that you have to be right up on it to see it.
DK is neat. Next to the original 6” release you realize how comical that one looks, especially the huge head. New DK is probably a TAD small for his general size in like the Party and Tennis games, but I still like it more than the giant 6” version and his sculpt is 1000x better. Some surprisingly nice articulation in there too. He’s got actual ball hips, a bit of ankle mobility, and his head has a good range to accommodate being either on his hind legs or crouched over on all fours.

Toywiz has a 4” Toadette pre-order up. Hopefully it pans out. She’s not quite the priority new character I was hoping to see next, but I’m still happy to get her as someone new on the shelf.
Movie line series 2 has appeared at an online retailer in Australia (Tanooki Mario, Cat Mario, and Biker Princess). AUD$50 (first series was just under AUD$40) so wondering if markup because online retailer or if this will just be a blink and you miss it release since the movie is old. Can't see bricks and mortar getting these given they're stuck with the first wave (and yet they still stock up on Sonic stuff that just does not move).
I haven't been following this line. Have they done a caped Mario figure yet?
They haven’t really done any that are purely classic looks. Even tanooki and raccoon made it in because they got featured in newer games.
Who knows if we’ll see stuff like cape Mario or frog Mario unless they show up again in a modern game. I’m still waiting for them to do Doctor Mario after he got a 2.5” figure.
