Holy damn! I thought an all-new Vulture was an unreasonable dream. A skycutter sounds really fun too. And I thought I was done with Thundercats.

Edited to add that I immediately went scrolling through the interview for the reveal.

Looks groovy.

The skycutter looks cool.  I guess it will probably have a clear stand like Mandora's bike to stand above table level.  I was just thinking it would be cool if it had an adjustable stand so you could put it higher off the table, but probably not as it would likely make the balance harder and be more parts.

I could even see myself getting two skycutters as they often had two in the show.  Maybe I'll pre-order one upfront and wait for a discount before deciding on a second.  I wasn't initially going to get Mandora's bike, but once discounted I couldn't resist.  I ended up really liking it and am glad I picked it up.

I don't know if I need another Vultureman; I've been OK with the one that I have even if he is a little tall (I bend him at the knees/ankles so he isn't so tall).  Someone was saying this Vultureman is a toy/ljn-version and I haven't been collecting those - the only one I have so far is Mumm-Ra, so I'll decide when there are more pictures out.

At the bottom of the magazine it says something about a "Thundercat's Deep Dive" and is cut off.  I wonder if that is some other reveal or just some other content in the magazine.

During the live stream Blake talked about how it is 22 pages of a deep dive into Thundercats with both Super7 and Mondo.   Doesn't sound like there is going to be too much new in that deep dive, but rather looking at both companies and their Thundercats products/licenses.

Does it say in the article/interview that vulture man is a brand new sculpt and not just a repaint in toy colours?

Personally, if there’s one figure they need to redo more than any it’s Pumyra. She needs a more cartoon accurate sculpt. New heads, new height (she should be shorter than Cheetara so some of the tooling for Willa and Nayda could be reused) lighter skin tone, and new feet without the lifts at the heels. A new version of her would be great for the deluxe line.

I don't think I need to add the Sky Cutter to my collection. I wouldn't mind having a shorter Vulture Man, but I also crouch mine down so he appears shorter. I don't even have room in my main display for the Electro Charger and Mandora, and that's a vehicle and rider that I REALLY wanted. I do hope they adjusted Vulture Man's height, but I agree with the above, that if anyone needs a redo for those reasons, it's Pumyra.

Well,  I'll need to see more to be certain,  but if this is indeed a new, properly sized Vulture Man then that's me eating my words from a few pages back.   I honestly didn't think they'd invest in resized Vulture Man parts.

The Sky Cutter interests me.   I didn't care that much about Mandor's bike.   I didn't care much about the little personal vehicle they did for Copper Kid in Silverhawks... but the Sky Cutter appeared in a bunch of episodes of Thundercats and is a fun vehicle option and it makes sense to have it above a display so it doesn't have to eat a tone of shelf space -  which is often a concern of mine with these vehicles.    I'm sure it will be way too expensive,  but even so, I may pull the trigger.

Interesting to get more Thundercats news when the most recent wave's pre-order just opened.

Ok so that’s vultureman down.

now do TYGRA

glowing eyes if you must…

new sculpt please.

They’re gonna do the first sculpt, sell it.

Then do a glowing eyes version.
then sell that.

Then a deluxe 🤦🏾‍♂️

@swoop716

in a recent interview Bryan Flynn alluded to any new release of Tygra would have the correct arm with the elbow pad, now they have it after the invisible version. A newer sculpt more in scale with the deluxe Lion-o would be great but I think we’ll just get the old sculpt with the correct arm and hopefully a better colour palette.

@elvis8batman

smh

you guys….

yeah like I said they’re gonna do the old Tygra and include the elbow pad.

they will sell that to people and people will buy it.

they will then come up with refined sculpt Tygra with light up eyes.

then they’ll do a deluxe

👍🏾

That way they can sell tygra five times Instead of one.

I’m sure they will do one in the new animated style and new articulation scheme.

as others have pointed out, the style is very distinct from the MOTU classics based buck and the realistic feel they’ve established in the beginning.

I could see them doing that with panthro too, but he seems to still fit in to me.
🤷🏾‍♂️

Can somebody catch me up? What was missing from the original Tygra release?

@fletch

OG Tygra is missing his elbow pad and he’s a big chunky guy.

He’s has realistic whisps of hair and face sculpts.

he does fit in with the older figures, but not so much  the animation style figures that theyre doing now.

Thanks, @swoop716.  I thought people were saying his shoulder sleeve thing was missing, and mine definitely has that.  Can't say I'd ever noticed no elbow pads.

I'm also okay with the MotUC-style designs they started with.  They're all on my He-Man shelf anyways.  Frankly, I've never found a "cartoon accurate" sculpt to be an improvement.

@fletch

fair enough good sir.

Enjoy that motuc style goodness that we’ve already been blessed with. And will be blessed with again lol

let us animated style fans indulge too!

I just opened my panthro this afternoon while the baby was asleep…

he definitely can chill with deluxe Lion O,cheetara, and the kittens. Love this figure!

tygra is definitely the sore thumb!

So the other box for my Cats Lair came in today.

I was not pleased initially that this was delivered separately, but seeing how large this is up close, it would’ve been quite daunting to move both boxes from my job to the truck to the house lol.

i was expecting two boxes of the same size…

the second box is literally too big to fit in through the side door  of my house.

i had to go inside through the front and and pull the thing in.

i legit didn’t consider how much of a footprint this thing will occupy…

😳

I’m thinking I gotta take the whole thing out of the box just to get it upstairs to nerd central…

smh

Ah, man that's pretty cool though lol I really wish I would have had room for one, funds were the easy part but space...sigh.

In the meantime, I'm going to console myself with this little guy:

Pop! Town: ThunderCats - Lion-O with Cat's Lair Gallery Image 1

Lion-O will probably go in a box, but this little Lair will sit on a riser on my T-Cats Ultimates shelf behind the team. It's not Super7, but I can pretend so shut up and let me be 😛
