The Loyal Subject BST AXN TMNT

I just sold my cartoon turtles from Neca as I was never really into the Cartoon and mostly bought them in place of the IDW characters. Now that IDW is getting figures, i'm going to try to go for them. Jennika and Venus have been two of my favourite characters, and while I only read up until about issue 25 of IDW (plus Jennika mini series) I have started a reread, planning to finish this up.

Think I will grab Leo and Jennika online, and the rest of the turtles over time. My local Targets never got any turtles (and I would have bought them sooner if it had) so amazon and bbts will be where I go. I am really excited for this line, and hope that we get Venus in her IDW colours. Also both Jennikas look nice, so does that dark Leo (he was in the comics when I took a break) so I might grab both of them.

I'm really milking that "grabbing over time" lol.

I have Leo, Mikey, Jennika, and both colors of Alopex.

Keep finding Raph & Donnie, but keep waiting lol.

Been rereading the series, still pretty early on, but I forgot how good the IDW comics were. Absolutely love them. On that note, Leo came in from Amazon, and he is a good figure. I am having a lot of fun with him. He is probably my favourite look for Leo (and I love the IDW look for all of them) but am not the biggest fan of BST. I like them but don't love them yet. Though this Leo is better then the BST cartoon turtle figures imo.

Jennika is still sitting in my POL, might add the second Jennika or dark Leo. $10 more then the standard ones but they both look so good, it is a hard decision. 

Dark Leo looks GREAT. I definitely want him. Hopefully I can finish the initial foursome before grabbing a second version of one I already have, lol.

I am thinking of preordering the Donnie / Metalhead two pack off bbts, that way I don't think I would need the original Donnie. Anyone here have both? If so, any major differences or thoughts? 

I don't like either figure being metallic, so I'm still gonna get the original Donnie, and wait for them to release a regular MH.

Finally received Jennika, the longest resident of my latest Pile of Loot. The figure right out of package seemed BIG. She looks good though, with nice accessories and functional (though ugly) articulation (particularly in the knees, the left of which is slightly misassembled on my copy). Mine came with two of the same left grip hand, which seems too tight to fit the hilt of her sword. Wonder if she could have held it with her right grip. I've got her displayed with the "bandana up" head. I finally put her with the rest of the IDW set, but only compared her with Leo, and she's definitely taller than him. I can't remember the height differences of these brothers, but is that comic accurate? Is Jennika supposed to be taller?

I just opened up Jennika from BBTS (she was sitting on my POL for a long while too) and it inspired me to pull these guys out again. I really do think they're my favorite scale for the boys (I love that they're just a bit shorter than Legends or GI Joe so I can mess around with funny crossover photos). I think I just bent and damaged one of Leo's katanas though which is a bummer. Kinda tempted to get the V2 set for the color variation - do folks dig the alternate color look? They're a bit pricy on BBTS compared to the originals so I'm holding off for the moment. 

Also really regretting not scooping up Alopex when I saw her at Target. I'm sure I can track her down easy enough still online but the dopamine boost of a new figure would've been nice. 

I received the Donatello/Metalhead 2pk from Amazon this week, and I just opened it up.

Donnie is just like the previous figure, but with an actual shell, not a reinforced metal shell. Upon plugging the bandana flare into the gritted teeth head, the peg snapped off. TLS has an issue with fragile parts. I similarly broke one of Leo's katanas when I opened that figure. I do like the accessories he comes with. There's a little space in his belt where the wrench is thin enough to slide into. The welder is cool, but cooler is the hand that was included to hold it properly (almost like a pencil grip). He also comes with welding glasses that fit tightly around his eyes.

Metalhead is where it's at. This figure is fun. He comes with casters for each of his limbs, wheels that swap with his hands, and wheels (that actually spin) that fit over his feet. Remove a plate from his shell, and you can plug in an engine/spoiler. He has an alternate head that is positioned facing up, so when in vehicle mode, he's facing forward. He also has two alternate weapon hands. The vehicle mode is really fun, and not something I've ever seen on a previous Metalhead, so I appreciate something new to me. His articulation looks better than the typical Turtle with the weird cuts, but it's still strange in that the sculpt represents mechanical hinges that have no movement, but instead has hinge articulation points on either side of the hinge. TLS gonna TLS.

I didn't need an extra Donatello, but this Metalhead is enough of a distraction that the price of a 2pk seems less of a rip off.

@normdapito thanks for mentioning the brittle parts thing - I kinda broke one of Leo's katanas just setting him up the other day and was like: is it me or is this thing as durable as paper? 

I do love this scale and articulation level though. I picked up "dark Leo" and the Metalhead two-pack from BBTS this week, got them sitting in my Pile of Loot waiting for the Turtles of Grayskull wave to be ready to ship. 

I am starting to think my brain is falling apart. I had no idea Donnie in the original wave had a metal shell, never noticed it! Got Donnie and Metal Head tonight. Needed some heat to be able to move Metalhead's neck, but otherwise, really nice set. Dark Leo is a great figure too. I'd love to see more supporting cast in this format, Splinter, April and such. 

Just got Mickey and Ralph from Target (they were on sale for like $18 and change, and there was the $20 off $70 sale). I now have the four main turtles and Shredder (who I also got on sale at Walmart for like $10) in hand. Need to ship Jennika with my POL soon, but so far I really love this line. 

I'll be honest, I would still rather Neca make these but I am just so happy we are getting IDW iterations. My hope for what to come next is Venus De Milo, and Old Hob.

I got Jennika in the mail finally, and now have all four turtles, Jennika, and Shredder. Super fun line so far. Went to Target to get Alopex (which my Target was stocked with her) and she was gone. Went to look online, price is not bad, but I did notice there is a blue and red variant. I'll be honest, I am only 40 something issues into the comic right now, but I am not sure I noticed her colour change yet. Gives me more motivation to read through the comics!

Have we heard anything else about the IDW figures? Do we think more are coming? I hope they sell well enough for us to get some of them.

Based on the leaked list, we should still see a lot of main characters in the next months (Casey, April, etc.)

I impulse bought Android Krang from this line. Sculpt is great, but those are the saddest example of elbows and knees I've seen from Loyal Subjects. I really don't get why extremity joints are such a problem for this company. I'd almost rather have swivel hinges like Hasbro Black Series.
