They look to be pretty on-model. The Foot's head gets lost a bit in all of the black and the big shoulder pads aren't doing him any favors. The show largely followed classic, superhero, proportions and comic book characters are typically drawn with smallish heads
So far I'm not tempted by ANY of the 2003 TMNT figures. Maybe that will change once we see final products.
I received Rat King during the crash though, and I'm really quite pleased with him. Great sculpt, meh accessories.
@normdapito The accessories really bug me on that figure too. I'm okay with the cat being repurposed into a bandolier, but the stuff to slot in are just too big and clunky and throw off the look.
I was okay with the accessories. I like the crudeness of the pipe-knife. I wish the rat grappling hook had some kind of bendy wire instead of hard plastic though. The scepter and the pipe are two things I can't say I really care about. I have mine wear the bandolier backwards and find it's less busy looking.
Are the accessories packs hard to get after the fact? I absolutely need that Casey head, but man I cannot justify $220 for the full set.
@misfit I like the pipe knife and the clarinet. The scepter I’ll never use and the grappling hook I couldn’t use if I tried. The bandolier goes in backwards for me too. Silly to wear all that stuff in front. But I probably won’t have him wear it at all.
Just got an email from Super7 saying they're tacking on an extra 8% on their non-apparal items. Woof. I knew it was coming, but that isn't going to end well for them.
Not sure if anyone has seen this already but Mr. Leeee over at Instagram has the 2k3 figures in hand already and did a pretty nice breakdown of them all. They look spectacular. So I guess these should be showing up in the next 2-3 weeks or so? He's based in the UK right?
Any word on them being the usual floppyness? Always worried about those hips.
Not sure if anyone else saw this email from S7 today but Wave 12 is confirmed to be shipping soon and they are requesting shipping addresses be updated by as late as May 9th. So we are getting down to the wire.
So layoffs at Super7... I can't imagine the company sticking around much longer honestly. I doubt there'll be many 2003 figures that happen after wave 2.

I think Super7 as a company will likely stick around - just perhaps not in the deluxe action figure market.
Super7 started out publishing a book, then magazines on japanese Kaiju toy culture. They then expanded into making kitsch kaiju toys - selling in Japan and then in America in small batches. Then they branched into making toys they wanted from the 70's like the Machinder Shogun Warrior Stormtrooper and the 3-3/4 Alien figures that Kenner designed but didn't release. The Alien figures inspired ReAction which has proved to be popular and have staying power. But they've expanded into tons of licensed T-shirts, and all kinds of other stuff too. Super7 has a way broader foundation than Turtles Ultimates.
Super7 can continue to exist without Ultimates - they'll just retreat into the stuff they've always been good at and go back to being a smaller niche player. Worst case scenario is the investors Flynn brought in shut down Super7 and sell off pieces of it - I have no idea what the investment contract looks like and if Flynn has options for retaining the company name and the rights to things like ReAction or whatever - So I suppose there is a possibility that Super7 folds - but I'd bet even if that happened Flynn would start up something that looked very similar to what Super7 started out as - a niche producer of hobby related kitsch selling to high end consumers.
wait, super7 is closing down?

I hope we get more, 2003 is my favourite TMNT show, but if this is to be the end then I hope we can get at least one more wave featuring April, Baxter, Hun, and Karai. That would at least cover most of the major characters from the show (if they could make it a five figure final wave add in Agent Bishop as well).
