I wasn’t even aware that the blind boxes were being offered. How much were they charging? Were they only on NECA’s site?

There were different categories, but the TMNT category is sold out now.

Holy mackerel. That's a really good gamble. I've seen what people have been posting on Reddit, and they've gotten such good scores. Saw some get the Channel 6 4pk.
It was great for people who weren't that into the line. Most of the stuff appears to be stock sent back from Target, but if you were only lightly into the line you probably would have made out. Or if you're an in-box collector looking to get some openers. If you had already collected most of the line then you would have just been paying 150 bucks to get a bunch of stuff you already have, but for really cheap. These sets are mostly NECA admitting that it's not worth it for them to sell on ebay or their Amazon store to get full MSRP.
If I'd have known the Turtles in Disguise set was a possibility, I MIGHT have shot my shot on one of those boxes.
I was very much into the Toon line, but there were plenty of sets that showed up in these boxes that I passed on. The Triceratons, Channel 6, that oversized frog, among others, were sets I don’t have but have seen people receive. It would have been a good gamble for me. But also, I’m perfectly fine living without those pieces. I passed on them for a reason.
Sort of applicable to all turtle lines, but Ramen Toys seems to be finally ready to start soliciting their lair. Looks mostly fine. If you just wanted a bare bones box you can get into it for about 100 bucks, though shipping will not be free. Or you can go for a double room with street setup for 300 and there's some middle options. No "toon" deco as previously advertised, so might actually make more sense for those interested in a lair for NECA movie figures. And if it's going up for order in January, don't expect to see this thing until 2026. Ramen is not speedy. Seems fine, if it turns out as well as it looks here. If you just want a sewer lair and didn't like the NECA one it might meet your needs. I'm still kind of torn on if I want to just make something myself, but I actually have to do it.
This looks great, especially if it gets enough funding to unlock to accessories. Held off on the NECA lairs due to price.
I also like that this would work well with MEZCO (and Fury Toys) as wells as Mirage and Movie, so I have options. I'm thinking it would look good with toon figures as well, once you kit it out with all the toon accessories, though it would of course be inaccurate. A quick coat of paint and a thick Gundam marker could toon everything up pretty fast, though.
Ultimately at this point, though, I'm still considering building my own. Biggest reason is a DIY would allow me to build within the depth of my glass door bookshelves. But like you said, Misfit, "but I actually have to do it" 🤣
As each year goes by, my figure want list gets smaller and smaller. I have just about every character I want rendered well in 1/12. I'm thinking my collecting habits in the future will revolve more around unique accessories, effects, and set pieces, to accentuate what I already have. I've picked up a few furniture pieces from aliexpress, like an 80's style fabric couch for my MEZCO TMNT, that alone have given me as much joy as a brand new figure.
Set dressing a lair piece by piece sounds like a lot of fun.
A little part of me wishes I'd grabbed one of those blind boxes since I have skipped most of the cartoon stuff and the majority of what's showing up is stuff I don't have. But it is what it is. In most cases, I don't have it because it wasn't important enough to me to track it down. Can't be too upset that 'I could have had it cheaper than if I'd bought it earlier.'
There is a new reveal on the latest checklist, a ninja version of Splinter!
I was expecting that look for Splinter after they showed Shibano-Sama. Definitely not something I need and it will depend on who he is packed with if I get it or not. I wouldn't be surprised if he is with Sama and Creepy Eddie's box-mate has yet to be revealed. I can't remember if Trevor said those two were together when they were shown off, or if my memory is just sticking them together because they were shown at the same time.
An interesting tidbit that probably means nothing is that all mention of Loot Crate was removed from the figures released via that way. That may have even been true last year as I don't remember or save these things. It only stood out because we just saw the Claw Shredder get put up for sale on NECA's website, so maybe these figures could see similar treatment if they still have some stock left over.
Yeah, I'm keeping an eye more closely on this 12 Days drop in case a Scratch goes up. Just cause I wouldn't mind a human version on the shelf too...
I hope when the line is finally concluded, that they release a small poster of this checklist, or a high enough DPI jpg for us to print. Always punches me right in the nostalgia, seeing it.
With the new releases like Ultimate Shredder being pinless, I wonder if we'll see 2.0's of the OG brothers, at some point. Kinda what I thought Pizza Club was going to be.
Maybe they could do pinless Red Sky versions of the turtles, that would be a good way to kick off the figure releases that appeared in the final three seasons of the show.
@hopethisworks there's a high quality version on their website suitable for printing. I just grabbed the smaller version for the post to not blow up the page.
