@gambitfan I think he's still visible in the background of a scene, but his close-up was deleted.

Managed to snag an Eastman today. Looks like it was gone by 12:01 once again. Either this figure is way more popular than I expected, or NECA expected it to be far less popular than other TMNT exclusives they've done and ordered far fewer. I remain surprised at how quickly this thing sold out each day. Hopefully there's another chance after NYCC if there is stock leftover.

Relieved I have no interest in this figure. Sorry to you guys who've missed out.

While I'm upset I missed out on Thursday & Friday, I'd almost prefer cartoon or comic versions of Kevin & Peter.

There is currently a Kickstarter for a sequel to the Turtle Power documentary that hopes to have Playmates style figures of original concept figures for the line that never made it, but they also have licensed Kevin & Peter's likenesses for Playmates style figures of the pair (Pixel Dan has a video looking at some video Peter actually thought to film of their meetings with Playmates way back then). That got me thinking about toon or comic versions since they're doing this, and they did Kirby in the Mirage line.

There was a rumor floating around that Mirage Peter and Kevin (based on that one illustration) would be coming.

Yeah, I remember this being heavily hinted at in one of the interviews around SDCC.  Maybe it was in Veebs' video about the sketch turtles reveal?  And I'd say this movie figure more or less seals the deal, since we now have physical evidence they're willing to do figures of the creators.

I would be surprised if they don't do more Kevin and Peter figures. And now that the Kickstarter figures are happening and NECA has done Kevin, don't be surprised to see more. I think both Kevin and Peter appeared as cops in the 2k3 series, if I'm not mistaken. Would anyone be surprised if that's a future Super7 convention item? I do expect Mirage versions from NECA to pair with Kirby, but it would be cool if they did a Peter in a movie style as well to pair with this Kevin. I don't know if he had a similar cut cameo or not. I think the garbage man Kevin looks nice, but I kind of wish they just did the promotional shot outfit of both he and Peter.

I finally hopped on Keno.  Found this one at $35 on clearance at Walmart.

The newest Universal Monsters were also $25 on clearance, so I was able to cross those ones off the wishlist as well.

$35 on clearance at Walmart:

Some will immediately think hey that's YMMV.  Yeah, possibly.  But I found a few different sets on clearance at two different stores, which is very notable.  I'm going to check a couple other stores this week but they are really out of the way.  Walmart locations are sprawling, and most are encircling the very outskirts of the metro.  Really has you driving all over the place, only being able to hit up two at once, during a couple of hours in the afternoon while getting some decent take-out lunch.

The newest UM Raph and Leo going on clearance is odd because they are relatively new at Walmart (they were just added at my store around 2 months ago during the last collectibles reset). Since that reset, I have YET to get ANY stock of Tatsu in my store.

I have another reset coming within the month, so some stuff might get marked down as well in mine. If the SOTO 2 pack of ninjas drops I might grab another pair for the shelf.

I wish they'd release the TMNTIII Turtles individually instead of in sets. I really just want a Leo for my Leo collection. I don't want all of them.

I haven't been buying the UM stuff, but if I saw that Leo on sale for 25 I might have to get it. Walmart is just such a terrible experience in my area. They don't seem to stock the stuff I'm interested in and they're all out of the way.

NECA refunded me for the Dimension X-Mas set after marking it as shipped with no updates to the tracking for over two weeks. I don't know why they didn't just send another one so I had to reorder. Thankfully, most people seem to be content without this one as it's still in stock.

My Dimension X-Mas set arrived today. There's more new tooling here than I expected when compared with the Musical Mutagen Tour set. The heads are recycled as are the hands and feet. The legs are the updated ones from The Secret of the Ooze figures with the ball socket setup instead of the old pins. The torso is new with an elongated shell and plastron and the arms are updated to use the NECA double-jointed elbows. They're slimmer as well and I haven't busted out my SotO turtles to see if they're reused from any of them. All four turtles share the exact same body and the only thing separating them is the color of the bandana. Overall, they're made of a very rigid plastic so they have more of a cheap feel to them. Hands are hard and will need heating to hold most of the items. Articulation is stiff so these guys won't be doing a whole lot in your XMas display. Hats are hard plastic and there's two styles between the four turtles. They just rest on their head and work fine. Scarves are soft goods with a wire so they can pose all right. Most of the accessories are really tight in the bubble and a pain to get out. I only mention it as this is the type of set many will want to store away after the holidays so I wish it was a little more accommodating.

It's a silly ass set and isn't going to appeal to a wide audience. I'll have some fun with it when the holidays get closer, but I do wish the figures had a better feel to them. I know the special it's paying homage to was cheap and off-putting, but the figures don't need to feel cheap and off-putting as well. I haven't heard of these hitting Walmart stores yet, but if they do then this could be something that ends up getting put on clearance at some point. Someone on the fence and willing to risk it might benefit in the end.
