All of the figures are now up. Not much clarity on if they're "open" or not, but the Black Friday figures didn't sell out so these probably won't. Each one is $37 and scheduled to ship in March so definitely bundle if you're buying more than one.

Anthonyscustoms sure is biased towards aesthetics for someone who touts being an "objective" reviewer.  He couldn't move Raph's shoulder but still gave it a 9?  The paint job on the leather is very gorgeous though, can't disagree with that.  Overall I really like Raph's look but Leo looks weird to me.  I think his head looks too small.  Compared to the cover art it's way off.

@vicious7171 in this case, I would say the figure is a better representation of the character in the source material than the art on the box. The head shape on the box skews more towards classic turtle design for some reason than what IDW usually puts out. A stuck shoulder is just that, a stuck shoulder. Heat it up and it's probably fine. I wouldn't knock the figure much myself if I got the same. At the end of the day, a reviewer can claim objectivity and strive for it as much as possible, but they're all subjective exercises in the end.

@misfit I don't mean to get too far off-topic but if his schtick is reviewing "what's there out of the box" then he needs to take the stuck shoulder into account.  It's essentially a broken/defective item until you fix it, which he didn't.  I get what you mean about fixing it yourself, I've bought plenty of Neca TMNT with stuck joints and all but a couple elbow joints were able to work themselves out with hot water/cold water soaks.  Some people don't know how to fix these things though and might shred the arm joint, and we also don't know how common this issue is or what the fix is, so to me I think that's just a very poor coverage of the figure for the review.

RE: Leo, good to know.  I'll have to look at more than just the cover, then.  These are neat figures no doubt, especially "Boromir" Raph lmao.

@vicious7171 fair enough, I just think a stuck joint like that hardly qualifies as defective because it's such a common occurrence in this hobby. I just got the new Figura Obscura Marley in and had to heat both shoulder joints. Only difference with that figure is Four Horsemen include a note which says you may have to do so and I don't think NECA ever does.

Are there still people so new to this hobby that they don't know of heat as a possible solution to stuck joints? I feel like, if you're picking up these figures, based on The Last Ronin, which is a very niche subset of the TMNT franchise, you're no stranger to collecting action figures by now.

Any time I get a new figure, I know I'm going to need a mug of hot water or a hair dryer to loosen at least one joint - and that isn't limited to NECA's stuff.

No stuck joints on my Raph or Foot Soldier 👍

Oh, and Raph is easily a figure of the year contender for me.

You have to remember he's not in the US, and he's ordered turtles stuff from AliExpress (before the forum implosion he was our tipoff of when stuff showed up there).

That is correct. Raph, the Foot Soldier and Karai are currently up on Ali. I think FHF store is your cheapest and best option, though I'm sure these will show up in the US very very soon (I know some people already have Karai)

Ah, I totally forgot about Ali.  Well that's wicked. That Foot bot is so friggin' cool looking. I'm going to need ...a few.

Yeah, that's the first thing I thought when I opened the Foot... I'm gonna need at least 2 more. And then I ordered 2 more 😆

The battle damaged head and interchangeable arms will give you some different options on how to display them.

Might as well copy/paste some thoughts I shared in a facebook group:

  • Still feel the same way as when I first saw the promo pics: this is the coolest looking Foot Soldier I've ever seen! The design is just so good, mixing in classic elements like the armor on the forearms with more modern stuff. Kudos to the artist that created these for the comic
  • Articulation is very smooth, I had no issues with him. There's a ball-joint underneath the torso that gives you some great range
  • Love the storage for the swords. You can also rotate it to change the angle of how the swords sit on his back. There's also enough friction so that you can position them higher or lower on his back
  • Hands are once again a softer plastic so you can easily get accessories in them

Didn’t watch any reviews but just hearing positives goaded me into preordering Leo, Raph, and Splinter from the NECA store. Bundling the three takes the sting out of shipping, but tax maintains a little of that sting. Either way, I’m sure these will be just as worth it as every other NECA TMNT figure I buy.

I got Karai and Raph in from Best Buy (I think they're still in stock...), and I have to say, the initial promo shots of Karai did not do her justice. She looks SO much better in person. I think my only complaint with her is the mid-torso joint gets like, little to no actual movement or crunch. So that's annoying. But she's really solid otherwise.
