I really don't like the texture Mezco went with. It looks especially bad on Michelangelo who looks like a soggy, old, live-action suit from the Next Mutation. And of all the stuff they crammed into the set, and yet they didn't provide one more Raph head to give people the option of featuring an all red look. Still, they look well enough like the renders and prototypes we saw that I think people who liked them then will be fine with the end result, it's just not for me.

Damn, I love the look of these. I wish each turtle had a happy or goofy head though, it's something I love about the Revoltech Turtles. I'm in it though for the articulation, the uniqueness, the accessory load out. Fingers crossed my PO goes through, I'm having a few doubts about the store I ordered from.

I'm interested to see how the rendering and texture looks in person. I was turned off by the initial renders, but then roped in like many people after their debut at SDCC.

@hopethisworks if you're worried about your preorder keep the BBTS page open on your phone/browser. As this thing comes into stock there's bound to be a few cancellations, though BBTS will probably hike the price too when it comes in stock.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered from a Canadian retailer who seems to be pretty legit and has solid reviews on Reddit, but they had their preorders open since SDCC, and only just went to waitlist a week or so ago. They were one of the top hits if you searched Mezco 1:12 TMNT on Google shopping for a while, so I began to grow wary that they were over-soliciting preorders like Deep Discount does and possibly Books-a-Million is, and that I'll get a cancelation. I paid in full (they asked for a $100 deposit) so I'm hoping if they did over solicit, I might get favored for the units they have. I've emailed them twice over the past two weeks to check in, but no reply. We'll see.

I'll keep an eye on BBTS. If I wind up grabbing two sets, I'm sure I could offload the extra at cost.

d_amazing has a review of the set up on his channel, and it almost makes me want them. I would love to try and grab a preorder if there were any open anywhere, but that price for the set is a big deterrent.

same here, D-Amazings review makes them look incredibly fun to pose, but I can’t justify $400 especially since I will never use half the accessories in that box.

Can I get an all red mask variant (but keep the unique skin colors and body sculpts) and drop the cloaks and jacket no one will ever have them wearing, and maybe even the clear effects pieces that just don’t look good for like $375? I’d do that no problem.

@doc-baghead D_Amazing is usually a dangerous watch if you're on the fence about something. He's so good at staging. If I were a marketer for a toy company I'd be sending that guy everything.

It's something I love about his reviews. As a guy who likes to pose his figures dynamically, it's nice when a reviewer brings them to life. Just because a figure has range, it doesn't mean they look good or natural when they are articulated.

I'm glad I already paid my $400 because it is a lot. Many imports I have, like MAFEX,  could be said to be around the $100 range, but really that's usually with shipping from Japan included, and they're often cheaper than $100 in total anyway. So these are a treat for sure, but they definitely look like an incredibly deluxe release, a really special set.

If my PO comes through, they're going to be a $400 40th birthday gift to myself, I'll be opening them at the end of April. One turtle for each decade. If my PO doesn't go through, I'll have to buy something more appropriately middle agey like a car or a lazy boy or a newspaper subscription.

I'm already seeing the Fantastic Four box set drop to the 350-375 range. Patience might pay off for the TMNT set.

So I’m weak and decided to just buy the damn set, I added myself to Mezco’s  Wait List but I’ve never bought from Mezco directly before, this late in the game is there any chance I actually get a set from them or do they just list all out of stock forever items as “wait list” to be cute?

A number of people on the old version of the forum have had waitlist orders convert, some months later. If you need it NOW, I guess the secondary market is your only bet.

Of course these have to start shipping right when my car needs major repairs.
I have them pre ordered at BBTS so I’m hoping that the wait for them to actually get them from Mezco saves me here.
Does BBTS give you a while to pay on orders with an NRD? Or is it about the same as any other pre order?
