With Indy 5 not doing well at the box office and basically already leaving theaters, will Hasbro want to make more Indy toys? Usually they want media to help sell product. Maybe Indy 5 will do well on Disney+ and Disney will want more merchandise.
It will be a real shame if Mola Ram and Willie Scott don't get figures. As well as the Cairo Swordsman and German Mechanic.
I would have thought white dress Marion and German mechanic were definites simply because they would be the completion of the original line and they made them in the retro one. Same thing goes for Last Crusade Sallah. Not counting the villains which it seems we will sadly not be getting Crusade Sallah is at the top on my list. Will try to remain optimistic but I am not holding my breath.
Between Indy & Star Wars I now have 13 Harrison Ford figures...and still more to come!
Just got my Brody/Belloq set and I really like them a lot. I'd be very happy to see more two-packs.
The re-use on this line has been really smart, it's not always obvious who's using what.
I'm also glad that there's more than one suit buck. It's a shame that Marvel Legends can't use some of these because they're better than any of the ML suit molds, even with less articulation.
With all these suits they could easily churn out Lao Che, Chen, Kao Kan, and Wu Han...
Yeah a two pack with Indy with gloves and a torch, and white dress Marion would be sweet. Indy would be an easy redo but Marion would have to be all brand new, so I think it's a hard sell for hasbro.
I really hope the line continues. I'm having a ton of fun with the figures, but there are some really glaring holes. There should at least be one army builder - german soldier (Indy disguise?) or a thuggee. Something. Indy needs someone to fight.
What is it about Cairo Indy that makes him $33? 🤨
@enigmaticclarity Probably the extra hands. They probably made less profit on ROTLA Indy from wave one and they're trying to recoup it here.
Just watched Dial of Destiny (unfortunately I didn't get to see it in the theater) and I really enjoyed it. It definitely didn't get the love it deserved.
I think Teddy should have replaced Renaldo in the Adventure series though.
Hopefully it does well in Streaming.
I'm all caught up on the line, outside of the Belloq and Brody two pack, Map Room Indy and Wave 3. I did end up with extras of all of Wave 1 and Wave 2 and some of the Target exclusives if anyone is searching.
Does anyone know what happened to the trade forum? Is that not coming back?
I ended up not getting any of the TOD Indy figures (well, I did get Club Obi Wan Indy). With no Mola Ram, I don't even see the point. But that's fine. My favorite two movies of the series are Raiders and Last Crusade. I will buy everything from those movies. I have everything that's come out for those movies, and now waiting on Map Room Indy, Belloq/Brody, and the Last Crusade Wave.
I really do think that Last Crusade Wave will be the end. Unless they do some SDCC exclusive of 4 or 5 characters in a pack, like they did for the 1:18 scale line back in the day.
If they profit on the toys we'll get more. I have almost no idea if they're profiting. I do know that Target rarely has any of the 6-inch line when i go to stores, but that could just be Target's recent terrible inventory management and not the figures actually selling well.
It's a pretty re-use friendly line, so I hope that might be a factor to continue. Also, from what I see, interest and demand seems to be there. I really hope we aren't done just yet.
Mola Ram I "get", but why is Willie seemingly off the table?
I don't think it's that Disney won't let Hasbro make her so much as Hasbro is figuring she'd be too poor a seller, even by this line's standards (though obviously, you'd probably sell 2 Willies for every Renaldo). Or maybe the actress wouldn't sign off on the likeness rights or something.
