Ghostbusters:

9,616 / 10,000 (+1,028) 96.16% of funding with 42d 20h left.

Well this should fund by today sometime unless there is a drop off a cliff in backers for some strange reason.

Is there any chance they every do a second go round at the proton packs? Perhaps with an included classic-style wand to differentiate it?

I missed it the first go round, but I'd be tempted to pick up a trap if I thought I'd be able to get a proton pack later.

I have the HasLab Proton Pack (and it is a thing of beauty) and I also have the Mattel Trap, PKE Meter, Neutrino Wand, and Ecto Googles, so initially I wasn't thinking this campaign was going to be for me. The Trap's removable cartridge and, silly as it may sound, the holsters for both have me wavering a bit.  I'll wait to see what my interest is a month from now.

Very happy it has funded already for everyone who is in on the campaign!

No surprise there that this funded by yesterday. Nice to see another quick success, now GB fans will be able to further expand their cosplay look.

Seems the tiers will be hit without a problem.  It's passed 11k.  I don't plan to even use the holsters as I don't collect these for cosplay, but for display.  However, if/when this hits 18k it will be nice to have them as an option if I change my mind.

I saw the GDL livestream and Jay (the host) was mentioning that it can cost up to almost $100 for holsters on the market right now, so the final tier could be seen as an additional $50-$100 value if they unlock (they will).

Ghostbusters:

11,191 / 10,000 (+508) 111.91% of funding goal with 40d 19h left.

OH NO! The daily increase dropped below 1,000 backers. THAT's IT, IT'S OVER NO TIERS WILL UNLOCK!! (hahaha)

I love that this is still going so strong 4 days into the funding. Even with the expected drop in daily backer numbers, this should still unlock the first tier before the end of the week. Then it should be smooth sailing to the other tiers. Congrats to the GB team for another success.

Well that should do it. If the pace stays strong it should unlock the first tier sometime today.

@jtmarsh I really would have liked to see those Fright Features figures and more of those Real Ghostbusters figures that Samhain figure we have all been wanting. As much as I really want those extra accessories to add to my Ensemble. I’m just not motivated to spend anymore money. It’s just not enjoyable anymore having nothing new to buy in stores and back to back to back purchases in the $400-up range that are not going to be available for a year or more. It’s got me thinking really hard about selling what I do have and just going back to the basics of collecting.

You may want to check out FanplasticFour's Real Ghostbusters as he's modeled upgraded versions of the original figures that look more animated, the ghosts are painted and he seems to be trying to push Hasbro in this direction by doing so.  Overall I thought those Diamond Select Busters looked great.  As I said previously, the only thing that dissuaded me from them was people's complaints about plastic quality and breakage.  In terms of what to collect and what to sell, just make sure that when you're selling isn't something you think you may want back at a later date.  I know a lot of people waffle between buying stuff, selling it, and then buying it all back.  I typically avoid this by only buying stuff I know I definitely need to own.  Lines that look cool but I know will be going deep on characters for a long time, will get/are expensive, or are an odd scale from what I'm used to helps to keep me to only what I genuinely like.

I would say if you have the pack and wand that's a decent Ghostbuster ensemble.  If you're going out with a bunch of other similarly suited folks, then THAT'S when you want to diversify your looks with traps and PKE meters and such.  If you just want a respectable costume, most people will not likely bring up that you lack certain accessories; plus you don't want to be loaded down carrying all of it, or have to decide what you want to leave home.  I've considered just getting a jumpsuit and the trap / PKE meter because to be honest, if I'm at a costume party I don't want to be wearing that proton pack all night.  Being the guy in a jumpsuit just walking around holding a trap or wearing the ghost goggles is less cumbersome and murder on one's back than a full ensemble.  So it's really about what YOU find you can be happy with.  It's great to have a collection, but you don't want to feel like you're opening up a storage locker every time you open your toy / collection room.  Basics mean something different for everyone.  I knew I didn't have space for the McFarlane 89 Batmobile but I bought it anyway because I knew I had to have it.  I'll make space for it eventually.  The key is that it is more fun for you than it isn't.

Still moving along quite well. Not to many Haslabs still have triple digit daily gains more than a week after starting.

Almost two weeks in and the daily backer count has consistently increased by triple digits (or more) every day. I think it might be a record, or close to it, for a Haslab.
